it just seemed like a load of nonsensical jumble of words, just thrown together in the hope that it made a sentence. I never thought that there was any cryptic meaning behind it, just wondered if it was supposed to make sense though

good, so its not just me who didn't follow a word of it!
A bit of a cross-over from my latest Blah Blah. I've always heard people saying [especially on the OCGDD thread] about them nearly getting run over because of listening to 'that bit' on Hitchin A Ride. What or indeed where is it? I feel well less a fan not knowing
Where can I read the article Billie wrote back in the 80's for Absolutely Zippo; "How To Be A Couch Potato"?
You can buy a book called "Absolutely Zippo! a Fanzine Anthology," it's in there. Billie wrote two articles for the magazine, the original Couch Potatoe one (Billie can't spell potato) and I think the other one is a sequel to the first article, but written sometime in the mid-or-late 90's. I don't have my copy anymore though, I sold it to Laura.
What exactly is the deal w/ GD and Offspring? There's rivalry there I hear.
""Green Day, rising above their dookie past, delivered a career masterpiece in 2004 with a concept album that sold 5-million copies, won rave reviews and even earned them a Grammy trophy for record of the year. Don't think Holland didn't notice. "I would not mention those two words to him," one of his hangar buddies says, " 'American' and 'Idiot.' I think he's heard them enough."
Just listening to some Dead Kennedys as usual, and was looking up 'Too Drunk To Fuck' and 'Nazi Punks Fuck Off!' on Wikipedia.. NPFO was featured on the B-side 'Moral Majority'. As you've probably already recognised, this is used in Minority "down with the moral majority". Do you think this is a nod towards DK seeing as they're an influence to Green Day?

Slappy J. Minnelli:
In the Nice Guys Finish Last video there's a guy running around in a yellow suit and black cape.
What the hell is he supposed to be?

It could be, but I think it's more likely that Green Day's lyrics are a pun. Like...what the lyrics say, "down with the moral majority". And the Moral Majority was an actual political organization as well that promoted Christian conservatism.
It's likely that both Green Day and Dead Kennedys were referring to the organization. It could be just a coincidence, but you never know.

It could be. Billie has said in an interview that he was a big fan of the Dead Kennedys, them being a Bay Area band as well, and from what I read, Jello Biafra seems to like them too.
i need lyric translations. i was going to use "she" in a music memoir i have to write, but to get the most out of the song so i could better relate to it, I wanted to better understand the lyrics that were confusing me:
