Number three, get The Doctor to take him on a lovely journey where they discover that Adric has in fact, not died and instead has fallen through the rift and so they decide to break every law of time and travel back to meet either Four or Five, probably Four because he had a better relationship with Adric and give him back to them so everybody wins including me.
