Age: 34 Gender: Female Posts: 5438 | March 18th, 2007 at 02:03pm ~lexy~:iATEjimmysWORLD:The proposal was really sweet. Two nights before we were supposed to come home, so Thursday night, we got dressed up and ordered dinner in so we could sit out on the deck that was connected to our villa. It was beautiful because we had an oceanfront room so we could see the water and we could hear the waves. So we had dinner, by candlelight, and we had just finished dessert so we were sipping wine when he leans over and pulls my chair closer to him. And he gets this funny look on his face and before I could say anything he kneels down in front of me.
I must have looked stupified.
So he takes my hand and he says, "I've been realizing the same thing over and over and over when I wake up in the morning."
And I have nothing at this point. I'm just staring at him.
And he says, "I've been realizing that I want to wake up next to you every morning for the rest of my life." And I just start crying because, really, what else are you going to do? And then he says, "And I want to fall asleep with you every night...and I want to be there with you for all the time in between the two."
And he said more...but I'll be honest...it's a bit blurry because then he slid the ring on my finger and I couldn't really conduct myself after that, haha, I could barely sit upright. It was perfect. And HE'S perfect because he had even met with my dad before we went on the trip to ask his permission.
Liz that is just the cutest thing ever
Oh my goddd. AWW! That's so sweet!!!

Oh that's right! Damn crappy weather Can't your brother borrow your grandparent's car and take you guys out driving around or something? Go cruise Universal Studios! I LOVE Universal Studios, haha, that place would entertain me for days.
We had a really great week! Eli and I went with my best friend Jess and her fiance so the four of us mostly hung out at the beach or the pool in front of our resort during the late morning and early afternoons because the swim-up bar is GENIUS in my opinion and the beaches are absolutely gorgeous because they're so clean. The food there is AMAZING. Maybe it's just being on vacation but the buffets they had at breakfast stole my heart. Fruits and breads and omeletes...I thought I had died and gone to heaven. And the cool thing is that there are no insects in Cancun so most places we ate didn't have windows.
We hit up Senior Frogs one night which was fucking CRAZY and packed with spring-breakers from college. They had people walk around with whistles and if they blew the whistle before you took the shot (which was the size of an 8 oz. glass, by the way) they tipped you upside down and made you take the shot that way. Craziness. We also went to Margaritaville another night which had really good music. We went to some of the giant flea markets they have downtown and did some shopping. They have BEAUTIFUL jewelry. We were going to go see the Mayan ruins because that's something I am absolutely fascinated by but we just sort of ran out of time by the end of the week. We'll hopefully get to go do that next time we go.
So basically we laid by the pool and on the beach, which was perfect. We went parasailing one day, which I will never do again because basically they tie a rope around you and tell you good luck, haha. We did some snorkeling, but I was so afraid I was going to touch something I shouldn't have that I didn't venture far. We rented jet skis and these dinky motorboats that were quite deadly, haha. It was a good time
Yeah. My parents already asked my gparents if he could borrow the car and they said it's fine. He's still bitching and complaining though. I feel bad I mean I'm okay with lying on the beach and not doing much but he gets antsy and hates lying on the beach and stuff so he's gonna be all hyper and shit. Meh we'll figure out stuff. It'll be cool bro/sister bonding time
Sadly we're gonna be on the west coast and Orlando is pretty far . Josh was gonna try to go somewhere near Orlando to visit his friend but it was too far away and he gave up on that.
Aw man, Lizzola. Cancun sounds amazing and it sounds like you really had a great time. Jet skiing is amazing. I think I've been snorkeling when I went ot hte bahamas although in the last few years my immense fear of sharks has grown and I'm even afraid to go into ocean. It's pathetic, I tell you. I have a heart attack anytime I feel something brush my leg.
It sucks that me and Josh are under 21 cuz we can't really go to bars or anything. We'll find stuff to do, hopefully. I don't wanna hear the boy complaing and moaning the whole time and we need to escape the grandparents, they're insane. Grandma talks constantly and Grandpa is so fat he doesn't get off the chair and has knee problems (not to be mean!)
I remember Josh drove the Jet Ski and made us fall into the water right where there was supposedly a big area of fish that could bite. Oh my god. That was horrifying. I don't think I ever jumped out of the water so quickly. |

OH MY GOD! I'm pretty incoherent for you darling. That...is amazing.
I told my mom I was so happy for you. I run out there; the kitchen. SCREAM, "ONJGFDEBHFB! LIZ IS ENGAGED!"
She asked who you were and I told her the story and my mom was like "Awww...GOD SARI! YOUR DAD NEVER DID ANYTHING THAT CUTE, WHAT AN ASS! Tell her, honey, don't let that one go." Haha.
Oh my God Liz! And he asked your dad, he sounds like Mr Charming.
I am curious. Did he pick out the ring? And is it gorgeous? If the man is good at picking out jewelry...do NOT let him out of your sight ever. Someone may try to snatch him. And major brownie points for a pretty ring...picture?
I'm so happy for you and I MISSED YOU! My God! *tackles* |

Oh gah, that's right...for some reason my brain registered you as going to Orlando. That's sad that my thinking of Florida consists only of tourists going to Disney World.
Haha, I laughed at your description of your grandparents. And yeah, as much fun as it is to spend time with la familia, you just need to get the hell out. sometimes You'll find stuff to do I'm sure...I think just lying on the beach is wonderful but it does suck you guys can't drink. I'm also leery of any sort of water activities because I'm deathly afraid of sharks or weird fish you're not supposed to touch because they have fangs or something. Eli and I rented out this tiny boat and we went on a "jungle tour". Absolutely not, no, I don't recommend the boat tour to anyone. They're dinky boats and you're wading through these channels...and I kept thinking of all of these movies with mutant sea creatures...or being kidnapped. I was happy to get off the boat.
The only thing with Cancun is that there are giant iguanas that walk around. I screamed bloody murder because one night we were walking back from dinner and I almost stepped right on one and it bobbed it's head at me hissed or something. I proceeded to crawl up the side of Eli who swore that they're used to people and that they didn't bite...it's still unacceptable. Let's put a leash on 'em, huh? I'll try to find one in my pictures to show you guys what they look like. Yuuck. |

Haha, and thanks! I'm beyond excited too...and your mom is cute for telling me to keep him My mom said about the same thing...and she practically giggles whenever Eli is around because she's so smitten with him. It's quite ridiculous but I'm glad my family likes him...even my dad who has always been 'meh' with my boyfriends really likes him. He says he's 'proper'. Well, he was raised in the south, he's bound to have some damn good manners.
He did pick out the ring, without help, and it's gorgeous. I'll definitely be hanging on to him for a while And when I get some pictures taken of it I'll send 'em your way! |

Florida is full of rednecks. Oh my god, I had a friend who lived in Northern FL and I went to her house fora long weekend back when Iw as in like 6th grade or something. holy shit, I mean this was before I knew anything about rednecks but these people were as redneck as you could possibly get. They did mudbogging, drove 4 wheelers, hunted and ate dove and deer meat and venison.. hear this... they had fucking GUNS in the bathroom. She showed me and she was like "oh don't be scared.. we just keep them there cuz we have nowhere to put tehm." Needless to say I was terrified of taking a piss in there. . Good thing we only stayed there for like a night. It was nervewracking enough.
Yeah these are the evil grandparents. Althought I guess they're not evil, they just talk alot and stuff. I dunno. My mom isn't talking to her parents so basically it's a weird fucked up relationship. but that's another story.
I can lay on the beach for so long then i get bored and hot. I hate the heat but I like getting tan. I'll swim in the pool and stuff but it' gets kinda boring. I can take books and read but my brother doesn't read and he is insanely hyper. We'll figure it out. I should just stop worrying about him. he's 18 he can figure out shit. He'll be sleeping til 1230 anyways so half the day will have gone by.
Oh me too. weird exotic fish and jelly fish and sharks. Ugh. It frightens me. The ocean is gorgeous but it's just fcucking scary. I want to go to Australia and learn to surf but I need to get over my fear of the ocean before I do that. I rememeber my grandma first told me about the undertoe and I was afraid to go into the ocean after that so i spent the day on the beach digging in the sand (which I still love to do, by the way.. i get immense pleasure of digging huge holes in the sand for no obvious reason) but anyways.. .i dug a holke and then cut myself on a shell and then decided to fuck the undertoe and went back in . but i thnk that's when my fear of the ocean started.
in Boca, where my mom's parents live they have random little lizards crawling all over the place and i remmeber one got stuck in between the door frame and the door and we opened the door a few days later and there was a dead lizard smushed against the frame . Itw as cool but sad.
alright i think I've rambled enough. |
