Personally I would be tempted to suggest that the front cover of the album should actually be substituted for the above picture, but just tell them theyre awesome, they'll love that. And say ýknow' a lot, they love that too. KOL are amazing, Liz I am jealous!! I have been listening to them heaps in the absence of Green Day, I really liked their new album. Okay, ITunes is downloading, 21 tracks and I have to leave for school in 20 mins. I am stressed. I'm also pissed cause Zane Lowe played 21 Guns while I was driving home last night and I had to frantically switch stations, but I heard some of it. Never mind. I'll be thinking of you today, Lana Lou! |
The Fool On The Hill Had A Life Before GSB ![]() Age: 34 Gender: Female Posts: 26154 | EEK! Hope everyone enjoys the album! i'll be purchasing mine later today. Can someone please tell me why I fail at life? I went to buy MSG tickets and somehow ended up with 2 different sets of tickets. And now I'm not sure what I should do. They both floor, not GA which I'm not really sure what that means. I think it may just be seats on the floor but whatever. FUCK. Any ideas? |

The Fool On The Hill Had A Life Before GSB ![]() Age: 34 Gender: Female Posts: 26154 | Does anyone watch It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia? O r at least see last season's finale? The 2nd Viva La Gloria just reminded me of their little "Tiny Boy, littly boy, baby boy i want to touch you" hahhahah. *gets back to listening* |
Janie Jones Falling In Love With The Board ![]() Age: 34 Gender: Female Posts: 5438 | LAAAAAAANES I CANNOT WAIT TO HEAR WHAT HAPPENS WITH YOU AND THE BOYS. I almost died when I got your text in school today, hahaha. I honestly don't think they'd be all that weirded out by you licking them. Or Tre wouldn't anyway, I don't think anything could freak that man out. Going to get the album now! ![]() |
The Fool On The Hill Had A Life Before GSB ![]() Age: 34 Gender: Female Posts: 26154 | GET IT! Oh my god I heard The Static Age when they put up those Comcast clips and I fell in love with it. It sounds so fucking amazing. I definitely think this is my favorite. It's the one song that stuck out to me the most. I CAN'T SEE A THING ON THE VIDEO I CAN'T HEAR A THING ON THE RADIO IN STEREO IN THE STATIC AGE. EEK. I leave soon fdkgjhfkjsf ![]() |
Lucy3011 King For A Couple Of Days ![]() Age: 39 Gender: Female Posts: 3472 | I like Static Age because it's poppy. I'm still the 13-year old who digs a catchy tune at heart. Good luck with the boys! Eeeeeeeee!! |
iATEjimmysWORLD King For A Couple Of Days ![]() Age: 41 Gender: Female Posts: 4894 ![]() | So far my favorite song is "Last of the American Girls". I pretty much like most of the second act...but there's a few songs on here that do absolutely nothing for me ![]() Tickets for my show go on sale tomorrow! Cross your fingers for me! xx |
The Fool On The Hill Had A Life Before GSB ![]() Age: 34 Gender: Female Posts: 26154 | AHHH I'M BACK. I texted Midget Maroo. It actually wasn't that big of a deal. The staff at the store fucking SUCKED. But basically we got there 15 minutes later then I was supposed to. They just had a separate line for the raffle winners and we got to go before everyone else. We waited in line and then went in the store and waited. Oh while we were outside, Adrienne came out and started taking pictures of the other audience and everyone was screaming. I didn't see her much but she's pretty, has fucking massive dreads. Um then we went in line. AH. It was pretty exciting. BILLIE IS FUCKING GORGEOUS in person. Oh my god, he's got like such a little boy look about him and he's so pretty. Mike was nice I didn't really say much but there was a little kid in front of me and he was pounding with him so it was cute. He like whipped out a lollipop form this baag and I was like THANKS! HAHAH. I didn't really do anything with him, got the CD signed, (I'll get a picture later) then Billie was in the middle EEKKK. so purty. I talked a little with him nothing major, mostly we spent about like 5 minutes trying to get him to spell my name. I was like, "Hi! My name's Elana" and he was like, "I'm sorry?" "ELANA" "Lana?" I was like ELANA. hahah he was so cute and pretty and yummy. I wish I hugged him or something but the staff was practically shoving me to move on. Then got to Tre and he was wearing these shades and he was realy nice. He had a huge bowl of candy for him and I didn't notice that it said Free Candy on the little table thing and I was like "Is this for us?" He was like yeah go ahead and take some and I was like "Oh awesome. I figured it was all for you" and he started making the marking on the table darker so everyone could see. hahah then I basically got shoved out of the way. Apparently when my friend went she was teasing Mike cuz he was drawing these little devil horns and Angel halos on the 2 people on the cover and she made a comment "Of course the guy gets the devil horns and the girl is the angel" And he started to draw the halo but messed it up and was like "See you made me screw up" then she went to Billie and he asked her name and she was like Lucy. and he was liek "I'm not sure how to spell that, We'll see" so he wrote it and then he was like "Is that right?" and she was like "Yeah" and he was like "are you sure? I didn't graduate high school, spelling is not my strength." And it was cute and then she got to Tre and apparently he was joking around and put his head on the table and was like "BREAKING POINT" hahah. It was exciting! it would have been better if the staff weren't being dicks and shoving us out of the way. They practically wouldn't let the dad stand with the little boy until one of the other staffs was demanding he stayed. |
The Fool On The Hill Had A Life Before GSB ![]() Age: 34 Gender: Female Posts: 26154 | GOOD LUCK LIZZOLA! And Luke, yeah that's why I love Static Age. I won't deny it, I love a good pop song. (By the way I met a guy named Luke at my school. I was in love iwth him for a while and I got to play basketball with him for like an hour 2 weeks ago. It was glorious) |

xZildjianRockerx King For A Couple Of Days ![]() Age: 41 Gender: Female Posts: 4936 ![]() | OH MY GOD. Elana, I fucking applaud you for finding any words at all. I think I would have died. I am so happy that they were lovely in person, congrats on your exciting day!! I love that Billie can't spell, I'm not sure he could get any more adorable. I spent some quality time last night driving around in a thunderstorm with my dog and the new album. The dog was a bit confused. I have to say, I was concerned that I wasn't falling totally in love with it right away but I have had a second listen in the bath this morning and I have heard a bunch of new stuff in it, I think it is just one of those albums. I think if it had been a normal length album and some tracks left out I could really love it but there were moments where I just wasnt sure and some of the lyrics are good and some are just really predictable and nothingy. I actually really enjoyed KYE though, in the context of the rest of the album, I like the lead guitar part and I dont think id made it as far as listening to it before. Loving the warning-esque parts, not sure about some other parts that made me feel like I was watching a production of Cats on broadway, it got a bit sensationalist in places but we'll see. Couldn't get through static age, sorry guys. Its this albums Extraordinary Girl for me, can't win em all. Horseshoes and Handgranades is great but the riff is lifted from something else, havent figured out what yet. Was enjoying Mass Hysteria, then found myself singing ''Christmas Lights in the Middle of August'' along to it and felt a bit cheated. Last Night on Earth made me cry, but I thought it would. Hmm. Lucy I think you are right about his vocals, they do sound a bit synthesized in places, he sounds awesome though, loving the high notes. Plus the 1, 2, 3, 4 at the start of one of the tracks is strangely hot. Gahhh. Elana, you are so lucky. I am going to pull out all the stops to find them when they come here in October, i feel ten years of waiting is enough ![]() |
xZildjianRockerx King For A Couple Of Days ![]() Age: 41 Gender: Female Posts: 4936 ![]() | PS, Mike is looking good these days. *shrugs* I've never been a Mike person, but for some reason I could now be persuaded. |
The Fool On The Hill Had A Life Before GSB ![]() Age: 34 Gender: Female Posts: 26154 | They were all so pretty and tannnn. Yeah I'm not IN LOVE with the album but there are a few songs I like a lot. I think The Static Age is quickly becoming one of my all time favorite Green Day songs if not, #1 or #2. I can't decide if it's better then Redundant. I spent all night last night listening to the album and then I literally spent half an hour listening to my top 5 on the album then listened to The Static Age about 4358034 times. I dont think I got to sleep til 4. There were definitely some songs that I think dragged on. There's one song (I can't remember which one) Where I was ready for it to end and then it went on for another minute. KYE isn't bad, it's a bit too repetitive. It's what Best of You does for the Foo. It's too anthemic for my liking. And I feel that it's such a bad representation of the album. I think it wasn't a good idea for a 1st single because there haven't too many people who told me they like the song and KYE doesn't even sound like any other songs on the album. Someone on the Foo forum said that it sounds like a cross between Warning and AI. I guess I can see that. It's a different approach and I totally respect their decision to go on. I do wish they would just go back to writing songs about random shit that we can all relate to but I also do realize that they're not 20 anymore. Last Night on Earth totally sounds like a Beatles song. There was another one that sounds like Deadbeat Holiday (I can't remember which)...(And now I just saw your post...) when I listen to it again I'll know. I've been seeing a lot of people saying that a lot of their riffs and lyrics look like they've been lifted from other songs either by them or other bands. But that's what rock is about to me. Everyone's ripping everyone off. He did say he was trying to do more with falsettos and stuff which was kinda weird. I dunno. Once again, its them trying something different. I feel like they're not gonna be as big as they were with AI just because I think that was more of a right place, right time thing. Oh my god. My friend and I were comparing the crowds between Green Day and 3EB. And it was so weird, there were SO many more little kids and little "punks" and stuff like that with Green Day whereas I feel like the youngest people in the 3EB audience were people my age and everyone was just normal looking and stuff. It was just interesting. [/rantage] |
The Fool On The Hill Had A Life Before GSB ![]() Age: 34 Gender: Female Posts: 26154 | Annie and Lizzola...were you guys able to get your tickets?! I can't decide if I want to spend more money to see them again with better seats/GA tickets in Hartford. kdfjghfskjg. They're still selling and it doesn't look like it's selling out yet. |
xZildjianRockerx King For A Couple Of Days ![]() Age: 41 Gender: Female Posts: 4936 ![]() | The hives! Main offender. Thats what the song is from, hereos and handgranades. Its the same riff. Yeah I know its all about sharing and caring but I think he can make his own up now... I like both songs though so you know. Theres some Hendrixy bits in there too, can't remember where but I like it. Its like a rock n roll history cocktail. I think static age sounds like video killed the raido star and not just cause of the lyrics. I like it until the chorus then it just doesnt do it for me. I have drunk a freakin LOT of wine tonight, so sorry if this didnt make much sense. |
xZildjianRockerx King For A Couple Of Days ![]() Age: 41 Gender: Female Posts: 4936 ![]() | And I got a text from Jon this afternoon that said 'Oway Oway, Gloooooria, Fuck yes'......... he's pretty cryptic with his text messges but I believe it was a critique of 21tCB. xxxxx |
Lucy3011 King For A Couple Of Days ![]() Age: 39 Gender: Female Posts: 3472 | Okay. So I went to see my friend Josh today and that's a pretty long train journey. Had a chance to listen to the album a couple times with no interruptions. And jesus. I think it's incredible. I mean, I enjoyed it the first time I heard it, but today I basically fell in love. Mostly with the album, but oddly a little bit with Billie Joe too. Hmm. Still digging Static Age. It's the chorus that does do it for me. It's so bouncy. Also 21 Guns still. LOVING the falsetto, I have to say. Since when could BJ do that?! Gives me shivers. Appreciating See The Light more than the first listen. Third act is definitely my favourite. Also noticed Restless Heart Syndrome more today. Only song that I feel is weaker than the others is Murder City. I wasn't really feeling it, but I'm willing to give it another try or two. All in all I'm fucking stoked with this album. And I've never used the word stoked, ever. I knew there'd come a point where I would kick myself for not getting tickets. I just didn't think it'd be so soon. |
Lucy3011 King For A Couple Of Days ![]() Age: 39 Gender: Female Posts: 3472 | One more thing... I agree with the above. I'm not sure about the lifting riffs from other bands stuff, but I definitely hear some American Idiot and some Warning on several occasions. |
