One last thing I didn't mention about the concert: the back drops were AMAZING. They changed for every song and they were just so beautiful and very fitting to the song being played. I took over 100 photos but I doubt anyone wants this thread filled with that many pics. I'll post a couple of them just so you get an idea of how awesome our men are...just in case you didn't already know Very Happy

Oh yeah, and the opening band was The Bravery. They were decent and they dedicated a song to Tre so they're alright in my book. Kaiser Chiefs and Franz Ferdinand will also be opening for Green Day in the States.

They don't have any info about who is opening for them overseas yet.

I heard it was going to be Papa Roach, but I'm sincerely hoping that's a vicious rumour. It just reminds me of being about 15 and boys dressed in black hoodies going 'CUT MY LIFE INTO PIECES! THIS IS MY LAST RESORT!' . Lol, good times.

You MUST be kidding, lol. I just sat here and laughed thinking about that song. Not to be rude, but I hope they get someone better than that to open!

I love him, too. Blonde. Ginger-haired. Bald. Whatever.

When I got home from the show Tuesday night Eli woke up and looked around the room and was jokingly like, "What, no members of Green Day with you?"

Damn it, I tried! Tre just wouldn't stop wiggling around Wink

I second, like, everything Very Happy and duuude, you had good seats! I got a couple good pictures but we were farther back so mostly I just took videos. Which I'm pretty sure is illegal but whatever, I'm not going to sell them Wink

I love how Billie was so giggly and happy too, man, and when he was talking about that huge cloud of smoke that came up from the crowd during "Hitchin' a Ride" Very Happy he pretty much made me fall in love with him all over again. The six-hour drive to Detroit was 100% worth it.

Annie! I'm glad you loved the show, too! I also took videos...five, I think. Could you even believe how good Billie sounded during Macy's Day Parade? I took a video of him singing that because I couldn't stand it.

lol! I forgot about the cloud of smoke. Billie was like "I smell pot!" And then he kind of looked around and giggled. I could see Tre nodding and smiling, haha. And then Billie took that hat from that kid and was like, "Did you just see the big f*cking cloud of smoke that just came up into my face?" I love him and his filthy little mouth Very Happy

He DID sound amazing, omg, I took a video of it too Very Happy yours is probably better though, I was far away so you can't really see him too well. But you can hear him!

I'm not a big fan of the Bravery but they weren't too bad...they did keep having technical difficulties of some sort, haha, it sounded like the drums were blowing up. But they definitely endeared themselves to me by playing "Who Wrote Holden Caulfield".

I think you pretty much covered the setlist, Liz, I totally forgot about "Static Age". I would have LOVED to hear them do "Horseshoes and Handgrenades", it seems like that one would be really fun live, and they do mention Detroit in "Peacemaker" so I thought they might do that one, haha. But, alas. It doesn't seem like they've been changing up the setlist a lot, but I'm pretty much okay with what they've been playing.

SUFFOCATION NO BLEEDING, THIS IS MY LAST RESORT.

Oh dear, I must have watched Kerrang too much when I was twelve.

Bravery and Franz are both British bands (I think the Bravery are, aren't they?) so they're probably trying to get a name in the states.

I don't want some shit American band who are just a bunch of whiny emos to support in the UK. I think they shoud have...I dunno...3OH!3. That'd be jolly good.

Lexus, the people I'm going with may end up flaking on me, (my friend can't even turn up to the pub when SHE arranges it Rolling Eyes) so if I end up with a spare ticket it's yours. Very Happy

God, I know. I sort of hope someone decent opens but don't really care either way tbh. Last time New Found Glory opened for them and I spent the whole time in the bar with Jonny, then we fought our way to the front right before Green Day came on. We were basically those people that everyone hates. Up

They covered that? That's cool! I have nothing particularly against The Bravery, and I had heard that they're quite good live.

I love your avatar by the way, Annie. Party on Garth!

LIZ. You went to the Cubs game in Chicago?! Was it the same game as this?!:

I'm pretty sure it wasn't really, because I think if it was you'd have sent me a pm full of excitement.

Also, I have just seen that picture of Tre conducting the band and what I love most about it is that is seems he has an extra stool for his drink. Love it!

Yeah, I remember NFG opening for them. My dad was NOT impressed. He was like 'What does NFG stand for? No Fucking Good?'

And ZR, I do hate people like you. Very much. But I'd hate it even more if you had frizzy hair that was getting stuck to my face. And if you tread on my toes and stand basically where I'm standing and shove me backwards.

If you do it in a polite way and pretend you're making your way back to your friends though, it's generally more acceptable, though people HATED me when I went to the loo at Mika and made my way back to where my friend was. I said 'excuse me, thanks' to everyone and was really polite and they still looked at me like I had small pox and had just coughed in their face. >_<

Oh, exactly, it's just all about weaving. I'm small and polite and I usually nudge people aside and give off an air of having somewhere very important to be. I find an expression of worry and concern helps too, nice guys just step aside and mean guys then get plan B, which is a sharp elbow. Years of practice, FP, it sounds like you have potential, haha. Wink

God, Sam is outside under our car (no idea why... he decides things need fiddling with now and again, its like a spidey sense) and some complete random just walked into our living room, where I am currently spread all over the couch, asking where our bathroom was. I was like... and you are?! Apparently Sam is now offering our facilities to total strangers out on the street, ffs. I almost died of shock.

Ah yes, politeness always goes a long way. I hate when super tall guys just push in front of you and stand right there in front of you so the only view you've got is the back of their shirt. I pulled one guy up on it after he pushed in front of my friend at Koko - I kept giving him evil looks and he was like 'can you see?' and I say 'yeah, but my friend who just pushed out the way and stood directly in front of can't. Move it.'

He moved it. He knew I wasn't fucking around, hahah.

I'm quite glad that I'm tall though. I can see over most girls' heads and over a few guys too. It helps if it's a graded floor though. It's annoying when it's just flat. I feel sorry for small people but then I think 'get taller parents', and the sympathy goes. Cool

That's so freaky. I'd never let anyone in my house just like that without telling anyone, haha.

Oh yes, great advice, thanks Loz. Let me just go out DNA shopping.

The worst thing ever is tall guys with long, sweaty hair, that shake their sweaty hair around and it goes in your face. It makes me want to be sick. Actually, even worse than that, is dickhead men who take the opportunity to place their hands in inappropriate places, and blame it on getting pushed around. I got someone thrown out of Rancid for that, it was pretty fucking satisfying, especially as it was two songs into the set. HAH.

I know, that's what I told Sam. He's too friendly for his own good. Didn't he ever learn about Stranger Danger in school? Rolling Eyes

Well it's no one's fault but your parents, so blame them, and then get new ones. Wink

No, I'll tell you what's worse, getting your earring's stuck in the frizzy hair of the girl in front of you...and then she starts 'moshing'. Fucking PAINFUL. You spend all the time trying to discretely untangle, because if she turns around, you're going with her, but then she does that and...ouch.

Worse than perverted guys are the people that lean against you. I had some girl do that at All American Rejects last month. She was just leaning her hip against my arse because she was tired of standing independently. I just turned around and was like 'have you heard that song 'Lean on me?'' and she looked at me weird and I said 'it doesn't apply here so get the fuck off of me'. She acted like I was being rude but actually, I was rather tired from doing all of my own standing around and didn't want to do someone else's standing for them. PFFFFFFFFT.

Pervert guys are horrid though.

Did Sam just say to some randomer 'Hey! Come use my toilet!' I mean it's not exactly the sort of thing that would crop up in passing conversation.

Apparently they got talking about prop shafts and it came up in conversation that he really needed to pee.

Lol @ the leaning girl. I love you, FP.

I have actually not moved since getting home from work, it's pretty impressive. And there is new Mock The Week at 9pm. And its my last day of school tomorrow and I'm getting presents. I think this is what true contentment feels like.

I just read the last few pages and I love all of you guys. Lizzola and Midget Maroo, the concert sounds like it was a blast! Annie was texting me through the Bravery set and got all excited when they covered Who Wrote Holden Caulfield?

Um Ellie I would have judo chopped random dude in the face before he got a chance to ask where the bathroom was. Then I'd just not warn him about our broken door and then laugh as he tried for hours to get out of the bathroom with our broken doorknob as my friends do (despite there's a sign on the door that I put up a year ago saying TURN LEFT)

I remind my mother from time to time that I got the bad genes from my father including my nose and my curly hair. However, we (my mom and I) look exactly alike and I did not get the short gene from her side. Instead got the tall gene which is aggravating once in a while when I'd like to be short so it would be easier to find pants in stores...not that I'm a giant or anything.

ARGH. I'm seeing HP tomorrow but with my parents (FAIL) mainly because people suck and all have lives and weird jobs that don't have normal hours.

Me and Midget Maroo were discussing yesteday that Tre's hair looks like a beacon.. I say a beacon of life and hope for all the beautiful geeks and dorks in the world. Because geeks and dorks are awesome.

And those backdrops looks amazing Lizzola. I've seen pictures from the concerts and they look awesome. I'm so excited they kept Static Age in the setlist since its such a fun song. I do wish they'd play more songs from 21st CBD and go for 5 hour concerts but I guess I can't have everything. Everyone seems to be bitching about the redundant setlists on the other boards but then they go see the concerts and they come back raving about the shows. I think we have Kaiser Chiefs opening for us at the show I'm going to. I'm excited about cuz I remember my uncle raving about them when their last album came out after I saw Green Day in 2005 telling me I should listen

and Last of the American Girls is one of my favorites. I think I've come to the conclusion that 21st CBD, Static Age and Last of the American Girls are all my favorites off the new album. Mainly because I just can't deny pop tunes since I'm a dork yet I refuse to listen to any dance pop music just because I can't dance and I refuse to dance. Although once in awhile I'll disregard my lack of skills and make a complete dork of myself because it's fun.

My brother's holding out til Tuesday so he can see it for free (which I'm hoping to be the annoying little sister and tag along... who can turn down free movies?) and then see it in IMAX cuz he's fancy and schanzzy and all that.

ANNNNDDDD... I started reading Crowded again. Just read that first shmex threesome scene last night. RAWR. Makes me want to read NOK again as well. OI VEY.

I miss being a bum and sitting on the couch all day sleeping til 11 and then watching TV and being lame. Stupid cute 5 year old boys who like to run around and be crazy and hit me with towels and refuse to put sunblock on.

*bows out* G'day.
