I only got it because I helped to make a DVD for my college. My services don't come cheap. XD

I've got the boxsets but I've just downloaded them because I'm not gonna take all my dvds with me to uni because I have hundreds of them.

I've left the boxsets at home too, they take up too much space and the kids watch them more than I do.

Elle's back! I hope you had a great trip, hon Smile

I've been obscenely sick for the past couple of days. I'm pretty sure my lungs will give out and I'll end up in the hospital or something. Ahh well, at least I have Will & Grace to keep me company! I hope all is well with you guys! xx

Oh noez Liz! I'm sending you my virtual hugs. Not real ones because I don't want to catch whatever it is you've got, but I hope you get better soon!

The only DVDs I'm going to take with me are my music ones, you can't download properly ripped versions of those and I tend to watch the documentaries more than the gigs and they're never available. I might take a couple of mega favourite films but you can get pretty much anything on bittorrent so there's no point.

Aww, no *hugs*

My trip was kind of mediocre, on balance, but Scotland was pretty. Will and Grace always helps me feel better though, get well soon! xxxxx

Yeah, it'll be much easier in a flat than just a tiny little room. Apparently we've got a communal lounge in our halls flat, but from the looks of it it's a table and some chairs in the kitchen, so it's essentially...somewhere to eat.

Yeah my brothers one had a lounge that was separate from the kitchen, but it was just a room with chairs in it... I just had a kitchen with a couple of tables and some chairs. Retard

Can't wait to move into my own house though. We get gas hobs too instead of the shitty hotplates we had in halls, I hated them. And hopefully we'll have an oven that doesn't have the power to cremate the outside of your food whilst still leaving the middle uncooked...

Ah, did you have a fan oven? You have to turn those down by 20/30 degrees and knock some time off from the cooking instructions. We've got one of those so I'm used to it. I have no idea how to work a gas cooker though. I'm gonna be lost if we've got one of those. I don't think we have though, our block was completely refurbished about 2 years ago so they wouldn't put gas cookers in.

I enrolled yesterday. I'm now officially a student of Manchester Metropolitan University. Retard

Nope, just one that is probably as old as the halls I was living in. We have a fan oven at home too, this one must have been older than me, it was so crap. You'd cook the same thing twice, same time in the oven, same temperature, two totally different outcomes. Made things tricky! I just started cooking whatever I could in the toaster, potato waffles, smiley faces, fish fingers, nuggets. Laughing

Bet your getting excited? Cool When do you move in?

That sounds mega shit. =[ Do they just expect you to sit in front of the door watching and watching until it's done?

I actually got less excited when I got my fresher's pack through. They gave me all work and shit to do and things to read and it's all starting to sound a bit pretentious. I'm sure it'll be fine once I'm there but pffft. And I'm not looking forward to the fresher's week because I'm useless at social interaction and I REALLY do not do the whole 'getting plastered' thing. It should be okay though. Hopefully.

I move in on September 19th, which is very inconvenient because I've pre-ordered Mika's album which comes out on the 21st and I don't know whether Play will be delivering it the Friday before like they do with most things or on the Monday. >_< And he's doing a bunch of free last minute gigs around that time and instead of being in London and able to get to anywhere in the capital in under an hour, I'm gonna be in Crewe. >_< I've told him any shit that he's doing after the 19th needs to be done in Manchester. He better not disobey.

When do you go back?

Yep that's exactly what they expected! All our appliances were pretty shocking, I brought my own toaster back after Christmas as the first burnt one side of your toast and left the other as bread! And our freezer broke. Fun.

But 'getting plastered' helps with the social interaction!

I am the shyest person in the world and I survived Fresher's and talked to a ton of people, you really do have to throw yourself in head first, do as much as you can, talk to as many different people as you can and you'll be fine. You may never talk to these people again, but they become your great friends, I'm moving in with two people I met during Fresher's week!

You'll be absolutely fine. AND you'll love it. Cool

I'm moving back on the 12th, but lectures don't start until the 28th. Smile I just want to get myself settled in before Fresher's Week! Which I actually can't wait for as it's 3 of my mates birthdays that week and everythings cheaper during Fresher's!

Oh my little FP, you'll be fine. i used to be a freshers rep and be responsible for looking after the new first years during freshers week/ get them drunk and you dont really HAVE to get plastered. there are always some that dont and some that end up in a gutter and some that cry in the corner because they miss their mums and i had to hug them and convince them that mums are rubbish anyway. also the biggest reason that freshers start fretting is if they dont connect with people straight away and you really dont, its totally mad and you prob wont make good friends until youve settled in, just go with the flow. i dont think i met elle, for example, til at least decemberish and of all the people i ended up friends with, i dont think i met any of them in freshers week. just have fun! ps. youll prob find no one has done the prep work! fuck a duck. what are we gonna do when you start school and have more important things to do than find us pictures of bj's chest.

also, im fairly sure thats a picture of bj with tres arm randomly in the background but whatev, we can all keep dreamin'. Smile

OHHH and Gethin vs Steve. PLEASE, Ellie Mayella. steve is blatently super hot and dirty has hell whereas gethin - whilst pretty - presents blue peter and probably still lives with his mum in the valleys.

btw, yes, my nan rocks, although she is very very irish yes, being from ireland and all. she sent me some thermal socks in the post a few months ago cos my mum told her it was cold here. Cassie

guuuh ive just been to the crappest houseparty ever, had to bring home my wildchild of a housemate cos she drank too much punch, jamie had a face on all night for no apparent reason and i have to be at work in 5 hours. should probably sleep really.

Ah Jonathan, you do make me feel loads better. As IF I'm doing the prep work anyway. Although all I was told to do for film studies was to watch loads of films and critically review them afterwards, and me and the Kelster do that ALL the time. We're getting through all of Tarantino's shit at the moment. We watched Death Proof last night and while it's not even in the same league as Pulp or Inglourious, it was still mega good.

I agree with Jonny on the Steve/Gethin front. Gethin is just WAY too wholesome. Steve's a total bad boy but your mum would adore him if you bought him home for tea. And as if we need anymore proof that he's the winner, check out Jake Shear's face in this video:

I can't believe you even have prep work! What kind of crazy hardcore uni are you going to?! I didn't have any assignment due in until the 8th week. Laughing

I'm hoping to be a peer guide next year and look after all the little freshers, for now I'll just have to make do with playing with Matt's ones. Cool

OMG, my time as a freshers rep in 2003 was actually the most hardcore week of my life. I stayed up all night looking after frightened/ mental 18yr olds, drinking awful mixers and then spending all day taking people bowling/ ice skating/ to the beach. Found our Jonathan curled in a ball fast asleep on a traffic island at Haymarket at 4am like it was a totally normal place to bed down for the night, by Thursday I was prrroper sick and yet had to go go-karting. Never, ever, ever again.

Totally agree with all you said though, don't worry about making friends in Freshers week, I panicked cause I had nothing in common with anyone in my flat but it turned out we got along really well and I just always socialised with friends elsewhere in my building cause the girls I lived with were a bit hipitty hop and liked going to blingin' garage nights and buying lots of shoes and things that were sparkly. And yeaah, we didn't meet til December cause I met you at the rocksoc Christmas party, where we were both flirting with the same DJ, only I didn't realise it at the time because you were much better at it than I was. Also because I thought you were straight - I think my gaydar was under developed at that tender age Wink

BTW, I'm going to take your point on Steve and Gethin... I tried finding a Youtube video of Gethin doing something hot and exciting as a comeback to that (OMG HOT) one that you posted of Steve, yet found nothing.

She told me about that. You are totally Golden Boy where she is concerned, most of what she talked about was about how wonderful you were. Rolling Eyes Wink . I'm thinking of sending her a shirt that says 'My grandson is a doctor and a very nice boy' just to save her some time. Don't worry, I didn't tell any incriminating stories, hahaha. Bless.

I live!!!!

I'm extremely tired but glad to be back in my own bed and I miss my little cousins dearly. England is awesome and I'm jealous that the weather's so nice and cool while it's 43590834 degrees here and gross and humid and stuff. Went to London twice got plenty of blisters on my feet, got to eat good British chocolate and I got my White Chocolate Magnum fix which the most the I want when I'm in England.

Now I need to go sleep and prepare to walk around NYC tomorrow. Oi!
Jonny, I wanna go to Ireland so bad! Scotland and Ireland are my goals in life right now. I gave up Australia when I realized I have a greater chance of coming into contact with sharks there.

and shirtless Billie is SEX. RAWR. I can't believe they finished their US tour already. Now you Europeans get to enjoy them and their sexiness. Let's just hope that BJ cut his hair or he'll look even more ridiculous then he does now with his straight hair. The boy needs to get a stylist... (cue Elle)
