Annie, in 3 weeks I will be in exactly the same boat as you and we can be hardcore students together. XD My friend Gabriel is going to uni in Miami, you have no idea how jealous I am.

I will totally bitch at student services until they put hot boys in my flat. If I'm paying £90 a week for a room that's like 6 foot by 2 foot, I want hot boys goddammit!!

Work is just a pain in the arse. I only work the odd weekend every now and then but I find it REALLY inconvenient.

You MUST know of the All American Rejects, they did Swing Swing and Dirty Little Secret, they've been around since 02, and if you tell me you've never heard of their songs I will declare you to be a liar. (And the lead singer is HAWT which helps in my fan girling).

3OH!3 are one of those new bands that I like because I'm hip, cool, and slightly bohemian. They do this song, and I'm going to see them on Thursday and me and Kel are going to buy them a beer, because we promised we would.

It's a mega good song and you MUST listen to it. The massively tall one, Nat, is half French, and I almost died when he started speaking French when I saw them in Paris. Thus he is a wonderful man.

JONATHAN YOU KNOW I SPEAK THE TRUTH.

Well they're emo but they're actually good. They're better than emo and their new album is FIERCE. They ain't a shit a band like Fall Out Boy, they're actually good.

3OH!3 are mega mega good Jonny, and if you think otherwise you are wrong. Wink They met in Physics class at university - they couldn't be any more perfect.

Gabriel is going to Miami because HE is going to study film directing or something. Either way there's a mega good course there and he's directing his first full length film at the moment and is finishing it before he leaves.

Miami might be shit, but I can guarantee Crewe is far worse. It's fucking infested with Northern scallies. BLEGH.

They ARE better than Fall Out Boy though, Fall Out Boy just ride on the coat tails of their last album and hammer out a new one before people can forget who they are, AAR take their time with it and actually write GOOD songs.

Wherever you're going, I hope they play AAR mega loud. Wink

I just read about the atrocious time KOL had at Reading Sad I love that band very dearly and they're absolutely amazing live, but Caleb, the lead singer, is such a hot head and a perfectionist and when there's sound issues he goes crazy and gets so mad. I cannot BELIEVE he flipped off the crowd, haha. (Okay, maybe I can believe it...)

I'm so appalled. And I know they're SO much better than that. I've seen them three times and I can say, without a doubt, they're one of the best bands I've seen live. I feel bad they had such a shitty time, and I feel even worse for the people who saw them for the first time and walked away with a poor idea of them.

I have further info about KOL at Reading, I spoke to my brother this morning! Actually, he said that they played a fantastic set and they really, really enjoyed it, they were right at the back but everyone around them was getting into it and singing along, everyone had their hands in the air, etc, but for some reason Caleb kept telling them to warm up in between songs and saying they should be making more noise, but in a really whiny way and gradually he got more miserable as the set went on, then at the end he just stormed off, by which point the crowd were already fed up with them and a lot of people had started booing him when he spoke in between songs. He said that perhaps down the front it wasn't so lively, but Caleb made no effort at all to whip up the crowd, he just criticised them and people got sick of it, it's hardly the way to get people excited.Sounds like he needs lessons from Billie Joe! Or, this dude:

Haha, Jonboy, I had to post this for you because I know how upset you are to be missing the X Factor! I totally miss making fun of Louis Walsh with you! A hundred and fifty percent yes. A million percent yes, a FRILLION PERCENT YES!!!! Hahaha.

Btw, MY Reading festival correspondent was my 3yr old niece, who was apparantly rocking out to the the Bouncing Souls on Friday night (I am the proudest aunt ever!). Her favourite headline act was Arctic Monkeys (although she does REALLY like monkeys, so this may be why), she also very much enjoyed the Kaiser Chiefs, but said that Radiohead were "silly and boring". Fair enough!

FP - yay for being hardcore students together! Cool My floor is all girls, which I'm not particularly happy about, but whatever, there are definitely hot boys on the floor below us so it's not that big of a deal Wink

omg Elle, your niece sounds adorable in the extreme Very Happy Yeah, I like Radiohead but I don't see them as being all that appealing to 3-year-olds. Kaiser Chiefs are super fun live though, she has good taste Up

She is adorable and she also lost one of her crocs during the Bouncing Souls set - I think this is about as rock and roll as you get when you're 3.

A bedtime picture for everyone... night night!

Hot boys on the floor below is certainly more tolerable than no hot boys at all, Annie. I think I have to fight for my car parking space this evening, apparently that's when the email with the link is getting sent out. I'm gonna be lightening fast. WOOOSH!

ZR, your neice sounds like theee most hardcore pre-school kid in the country. You should be very, very proud.

And just to let you all know, Gregg's sausage rolls are actually the most perfect creation in all of the universe. Srs.

Well, she IS related to me, FP. We obviously share the hardcore gene.

(Omg, I just typed that like 'jean', then couldn't figure out why it didn't look right.I am concerned that I will be educating innocent people next week.)

I haven't been able to stomach anything from Greggs since they gave me food poisoning in my first year of uni. Going through the door makes me feel sick.

Ummmmmmmmmmmmm I'm not gonna comment on the shared gene...but I will tell you how shocked and appalled I am that you are training this country's next generation of thieves and benefit frauds when you can't even get your homophones right.

Ahhh I love Gregg's so much. I went to Argos and then I went to Gregg's, I've never felt so working class in all my life. It was awful. But the sausage rolls were far from.

FP is still alive. I haven't been downstairs yet to see if the telly's still there, but I wasn't woken up by my dad shouting 'What the fuck?!?!!?!' this morning, so I think it's cool. It was probably a cat or something. Psssht.

Yay for no classes and hot boys! I'm glad student life is suiting you Annie!
