Balancing Acts 2

Green Day won all three awards they were nominated for. They only accepted Best Rock Video on the actual show though. Jack Black presented their award, and since he is promoting some new video game, came out wearing a fake set of muscles and weilding this giant plastic axe, and basically looked ridiculous. Tre, of course, loved this and they kept showing Tre in the audience with his sunglasses on, just absolutely going crazy for Jack Black. So, when they won, he walked up there and immediately held the giant axe to his crotch...of course. Billie spoke and thanked the fans and wished Jake a happy birthday.

Personally, I think the VMAs were a giant fail this year, but maybe I've outgrown MTV and these new artists that have made it big. Green Day's performance was amazing and should be watched. Beyonce performed "Single Ladies", which was also unbelievable. Aaaand then there's Lady Gaga...who is out of her damn mind, haha. I love her music and everything but she dresses in some WEIRD shit. And it wasn't even one weird outfit, it was several. I'll see if I can find pictures...

The Kanye thing was awkward and horrible. I can't remember the category but Beyonce was nominated along with Pink, Lady Gaga and Taylor Swift. Taylor Swift is a country singer and she's 18 and very cute and she's always shocked by everything...but anyway, she won, and when she went up to accept her award and speak Kanye strolled up there, took the microphone out of her hand and said something like "No offense, but Beyonce's video was the best ever". Taylor was obviously crushed and people were booing and Beyonce was mortified. But then later when Beyonce won Video of the Year, she had Taylor come out and finish her speech, which was kind.

That was an unncessarily long post about the VMAs!

Lady Gaga is out of her mind, hahaha, I kind of love her for being so ridiculous, although I thought her performance at the VMAs was a little over the top. And Beyonce was legitimately awesome. Taylor Swift gets on my nerves in general just because everyone I know is insane about her, but I felt sooo bad for her. She had no idea what to do, and I mean, who would, really.

FP, I have been pretty busy - actually, I feel like I've been really busy but also have a lot of free time and am always tired. Somehow. haha. I'm writing for the newspaper, hopefully also being involved with two of the campus TV shows, plus the magazine, plus classes, which sounds like a lot but it's really not THAT much right now because the TV shows haven't really started yet.

And I totally missed the boys actually accepting the award, bah, I'll have to look for it on youtube.

Thanks for the detailed info about the VMAs, Liz, i'll have to check Tre's axe-weilding out later. Kanye West always has been full of his own importance, why the hell did he think he could just walk onto the stage when he wasn't even meant to be up there? I have never heard of Taylor Swift but I want to smack him on her behalf.

ZR, this is how big of a douchebag Kanye West was - Obama called him a jackass off the record on an interview - you can probably find it on youtube, it's mega funny.

I don't like Taylor Swift, not for any particular reason apart from she's from that Disney band of kids that just irritates me, but she seems nice enough and Kanye was a dickhead. 50 Cent even slagged him off on telly.

As for Gaga, that bitch is so fierce and she's totally awesome. I'm not even mega into her music but she's totally awesome. Everytime she gets snapped by a pap she properly art directs it herself so when people see her in the newspaper it is just as styled and cool and arty as a shoot in a studio. That's majorly awesome in my opinion, not only dealing with paps in a totally cool way, but using them to her advantage in a way that's not 100% trashy.

Blah I'm booooored. I'm alone in my house for the first time and my stupid crappy TV has broken. Bad times.

On the upside I get my first birthday present in just over two weeks and I'm mega excited to find out wha tits going to be.

and Elle, I LOVE the patches. I don't know why. He looks sorta like a penguin but it's so cute. It's just different but not something like dying his hair blue. I dunno he's just liek a ltitle kid or something.I really want to know what conversation occurs as he decides what he's going to do to his hair. I bet Joey told him to. Or maybe Tre dared him...

I'm moving on Sunday instead now - there's less people arriving then so hopefully it won't be as rushed and busy.

Malteasers for breakfast, followed by lunch with my piano teacher, huzzah! And then last minute shopping at Lakeside. (I do love a bit of last minute shopping).

Foolish indeed! Second flatmate arrived today, then matts back tomorrow and then kellie on tuesday, good times You super excited now?

omg i havge actually had the best day ever. Went to teaching conference, had awesome free lunch in posh hotel, listenedto a dude talk about creative practice whilst drinking lots of coffee and playing hangman with a really hot high school history teacher, went to a workshop about how to stop my kids punching each other in the face, got a free mug and a free pen which lights upo when you write with it, then finished it all by going to the pub and celebrating the arrival of Friday with lots of red wine, and now its time for the new seasonf of peep show. hurray!!!!

p.s. I also love a bit of last minute shopping. I'm going to a wedding tomorrow and I'm still not sure what I'm wearing. I might be going early morning shopping at meadowhall. *shrugs* I'm sure it'll be fine.

So I watched the Derren Brown thing and I didn't get stuck to my chair. I was made dizzy, but I didn't stick.

I'm gonna try again in the morning. Thank heavens for sky plus, I'd only ever get one go at hypnosis.

OMG guys, I could kill my boyfriend. I got up fecking early for this bloody wedding, bearing in mind I do not even know these people at all as they are his work friends, sorted my outfit, got all dressed up etc etc, drove like a mad thing to the card shop cause we'd forgotten to get a wedding card, went all the way to fucking chesterfield navigating from the road map cause the GPS died on the journey, pulled into the car park to find it empty. "Hmm", says Sam, "We are a bit early. It is the 20th isn't it, hahahaha". "No. It is the 19th". "Fuck".

I now have to it all over again tomorrow. FFS.
