Omg, Lexy, you're psychology right? I failed stats in a sensational way in first year and had to do it over and I only scraped it the second time around. For the rest of the course I just got someone to do the analysis parts of my lab reports for me!

Yeah I am, I hate stats with a passion! I'm living with someone this year who's pretty good at it though, she helped me with the stats part of my research project last year.

Ok so my writer's craft lecturer is Cheshire's poet laureate, he's pretty good, he's called Terry Fox, look him up if you wish.

I just had my first workshop with him, there are seven of us in there and it's the main poetry unit (and I don't realy write poetry at all but whatever). He read us out a selection of poems, put some music on, talked about the development of language and how poetry originated etc etc and then we went on to talk about stand up because part of our course is about writing for performance. He might be using Frankie Boyle for us to study as a writer/performer and all of us are mega enthusiastic about that, as you can imagine.

Furthermore, he's a musician, he hates schools ("and what they do to people" ) and totally gives off the impression that he was more hardcore than John Lydon back in the day.

If I'm going to learn anything about poetry from anyone, I'm glad it's him, he's MASSIVELY cool.

Wow-zers, is it quiet around here. God, we all have such busy and exciting lives these days.

I'm in Scotland and it's gorgeous and I think that October might be the most beautiful month of all time, although I hadn't really thought about it before.

It is but 21 days until Green Day time.

Speaking of Frankie Boyle, apparently he has left Mock The Week for good, which is very sad.

Speaking of poetry, I actually wrote some this weekend, which is most unusual.
As for what schools do to people, I hear you FP. I've just spent three hours making a display about the Victorians and my eyes have gone funny.

god, i havent been round these parts in tiiiime. whats occuring?

last night i was pulling some moves on the dancefloor in a fucking disgusting club in auckland, slipped on an unknown substance (dont wanna know frankly) and have quite severely sprained my ankle. so now i cant walk. i had to get carried out of the club by my mate adam, who is quite hot so it wasnt all bad,

there seems to be a distinct lack of elana and liz. what the hell happened to our american component, i miss their charming little ways.

Well I am, I'm mega pissed off cos I get 10% so the BBC shit is gone now. We're chatting to channel 4 about him having his own show, so hopefully that'll be a nice little earner.

Hooome. Yeah, I wasn't teaching today, I was owed some planning time so I took it in lieu. And didn't do any planning at all but shhhh.

Poor substitute, possibly. He called me on Friday, said he was newly qualified and a bit nervous. The phrase 'baptism of fire' sprang to mind but obviously I told him that everything would be just fine. I wonder if he is still alive?

Sari, firstly, *hugs*.

Secondly, you do what YOU want to do. Not what anyone else does, getting married is a HUGE decision and although it's been cheapened these days by people like Peaches Geldof and Kourtney Kardashian, it should be something that you do because you are sure you want to be with that person for life and you're ready to make that committment.

You have to seriously think about all your choices and decide what is important to you and what is important to your boyfriend, and above all, what's the best thing for your baby.

I completely agree with Loz. Do what you want to do, you're the only one that can decide what feels right and the last thing you need is feeling unhappy or insecure in a relationship, that won't help anybody. I hope you are bearing up okay with everything. xx

Oh my Lord, Sari. *hugs hugs hugs hugs* I don't have much to say beyond what FP and Elle have said, just, don't let yourself be forced to stay in a relationship if you don't want to. Think it through and decide for yourself and for your baby above all. Are you certain you're going to keep the baby and raise it yourself/with your boyfriend?

god. i was feeling a bit emotional in the shower this evening (best place for it, i'd say) because I'd had a hard shift and then stephen gately died and he was basically my first ever celebrity crush when i was like 12, and then Jamie reads out a text message from elle but completely mangles it cause he's a tool, and tells me that elle is pregnant, so I got all on my high horse about finding out in a text message, then read it myself and discovered it was in fact, Sari. Either way, big news.

I'd like to echo what everyone else has said really, who is this guy? if its the nice one, then good, but even if it is the nice one, you dont need to make a decision about spending the rest of your life with him at the moment. Ive been out with lots of really nice people who just didnt end up being right for whatever reason, work it out in your own time rather than jumping into a marriage now.

i (grudgingly) respect that your father has traditional values, but im sure standing up for what you believe now won't mean you lose him, you dont need to be married to raise a child... my parents didnt even speak to eachother and i turned out ok!
You do have other options but whatever your moral standpoint i really wouldnt advise you to have an abortion at 4 mnths it would be very traumatic. there is always adoption though if you really dont feel able to raise the baby (and theres nothing wrong with deciding that).

anyway my darling, the main thing is that you are having a baby and at the end of the day, this will probably be the most amazing thing to ever happen to you. You are intelligent and sweet and completely capable and im sure you
are going to do a amazing job, whether you get married or not, whatever you decide to do. Having a baby doesnt mean the end of things, its the start of a new exciting time in your life. Dont be scared, you'll be just fine and we are all here to give lots of support honeypie, and internet hugs too xxxxxxx
