Jonny! I'm thinking of studying abroad in Ireland in the fall next year .. that or Scotland. Can't decide between Galway, Dublin, Glasgow or Edinburgh... any recommendations from of any of you UKers?

Lana, I don't know Galway, but Edinburgh is one of my favourite cities of all time. I was born there I'm not much for Glasgow. Dublin's nice but expensive. Either way, good choice for coming our way!

Edinburgh is beautiful, my friends at Uni there and I lived there as a kid so that would be my top choice. But Scotland and Ireland are both awesome, so I doubt you can really go wrong.

We play sink Jenga in my house as everyone hates washing up and putting stuff away, whoever makes it fall has to tidying up and then wash whatevers in the sink.

Jonny, uni is going fine thank you. I have a friend called Jamie who is cynical, mean and sarcastic, thus we are best friends. I have other friends too but he is by far the coolest.

El, I'd say go for Edinburgh, then you can go to the fringe festival and it won't cost you a bomb to stay there cos you're already there! Perfect! And it's properly nice too. Glasgow is ROUGH, don't know much about Ireland, but I reckon Edinburgh will be best.

I live with a guy who has ADD as well as OCD so he always washes up and does it really fast but really thoroughly too. It's excellent. Though he does get the arse if you put your stuff on the draining board after you've washed it because it bugs him. He can suck my metaphorical nob though cos draining boards were made for draining.

I did get through the week with my sanity intact and with a great report! Now I'm marking my science assessments (which have turned out to be hilarious reading) because I need everything done by Monday night, for Green Day followed by San Francisco

OVER TWO AND A HALF FUCKING HOURS OMG.

Okay I'm gonna try and remember all this shiz. Can I say how fucking amazing the set is? Literally, that's the type of stuff PROPER set designers do. I couldn't believe it. SO clever. Must have taken so much planning and organisation so MAJOR snaps to whoever did that - it looks a bit Es Devlin-y actually, but I dunno, it's probably not hers.

So we rolled in about 5 to 8, Chris got a beer from a woman with a backpack and we weaved our way to the back of the front section (before it gets crushed). Then some guy taps Chris on the shoulder and it turns out he's a mate of Chris' from when they went to college and they went to the same uni - 19,000 people were in there and Chris bumps into 2 that he knows. Ridiculous.

Anyway - they played shit loads and it was amazing. Billie pulled a girl up on stage and kissed her. I got a bit jealous, but whatever. He would have had to get the yellow pages if he pulled me up anyway so it would have been inconvenient.

They played Going to Pasalacqua and Burnout (I *think*. I can't remember very well but I remember thinking at the time 'is this Burnout'?). They did Knowledge as well and the kid they pulled up for guitar was 14, ginger, and it took a while before he started playing because the drummer and bassist had picked it up really quick (cos it's easy as shit) but people were a bit like 'oh...is he gonna be rubbish?' then he fucking KICKED ARSE. Literally, he was so good, and Billie put these shades on him while he was playing and it was great. And they picked a girl for bass and when she put Mike's bass on, Mike picked up her bag and put it over his shoulder and started prancing about with it.

UMMMMM. What else? OMG LNOE = amazing. Makes up for lack of both Glorias completely. And Time of Your Life acoustic as well. *sigh*

They played When I Come Around which was amazing cos we didn't get that at Hammersmith in 05 and it's one of my favourites. And they did King For a Day and Shout and in between Billie did this little medley of British songs. NO ONE KNEW ROCK THE FUCKING CASBAH. IT TOTALLY FAILED. I wanted to bash everyone's heads together. Me and Chris were the only ones singing back the rock the casbah bit. PFFFT. I've got that whole lot on video though so you can have a look for yourselves when they finish uploading.
