Elle, two things:
Firstly, I used to be a Rik Mayall nut. Loved him. I'm pretty sure I was desperate to meet him. One day I went with a friend to see him live on stage, we were hours early so we went for a walk around the town, when suddenly my friend said to me, 'Look left.'
I did, and there was Rik, walking straight towards us. Instead of stopping him and saying hello, or even reaching out to grab him, I pretty much yelled "Oh my god, how cool!" right at him and kept on walking. He looked at me like I had eight heads. I kicked myself for months.
Secondly, was it weird your boyfriend and your ex both being there? I went to a wedding the weekend before last and my ex was there - this wasn't unexpected, he was the Best Man. When my boyfriend joined me in the evening, there were some uncomfortable moments. Not that they even spoke, but at one point they were stood next to each other and I, possibly irrationally, couldn't help thinking they were going to scuttle off together and compare notes.
btw lozaroo, newcastle arena is only 11000. i think thats why they missed it out this time, its quite small as arenas go and last time we went it was before the american idiot thing took off and as far as i remember the gig was almost completely drunk students.

Lucy, I'm glad its not just me that gets embarrassingly starstruck! As for having ex boyfriend and current boyfriend in the same room, yeah, it was a bit awkward. I hadnt considered there to be any danger of them meeting as they live in different countries and so hadn't actually ever really mentioned the existance of this particular ex, especially as he's one of those rare breeds of ex that still makes my stomach feel funny. To summarise, you aren't weird, relationships are awkward.
God, I totally do not want to come home.

OMG the girl next door to me woke me up by having sex at 5am and she woke me up again about half an hour ago. I mean REALLY.
OMDAYS. We have to do group presentations for Writing 1 ad Jamie and I shotgunned each other, because last time I ended up with an arrogant dickhead who did no work, so we got a group together - there needed to be 4 so we grabbed two other girls and then Jo said actually, she was going to pick the groups. Jamie and I protested so she did a vote, and people decided that WE should choose our own groups.
Then she said okay, but there were 14 of us so 2 would need to create a smaller group and do a smaller presentation. Jamie volunteered me and him for it. Then at this point she decided that actually, she was just going to chuck us in with any random group.
Thankfully, I'm working with decent people. Jamie's stuck with Inbred David and Pretentious Rochelle. LOL.
We would have made an awesome power point.
I know this is all irrelevant and juvenile, but I needed to vent and this seemed to be the best place for it - facebook = bad idea all round and twitter has a 140 character limit so that ain't no good.

You find the idea of him on a rack strangely attractive? ...Yeah actually, me too.
I've got a good few inches on him as well, so he'd just constantly make me feel like a freak.
Jamie is cynical, sarcastic, and he loathes Inbred David just as much as I do, so naturally we're friends. He's in my Creative Writing classes and we get on really well, mostly because if I ask him nicely, he'll lean to one side so I don't have Inbred David and his sticky out ears in my general line of sight.
As for hotness...meh, he's attractive, but not necessarily HAWT. I think personality is a BIG factor here. But he's by no means ugly. He started the year with a big Captain Birdseye style beard, which was a bit odd, but he's shaved it off now and he's got a sort of half stubble half beard thing going on.
Basically, we both just power point the fuck out of things for presentations so it would have been the most epic, heavily animated presentation in the history of presentations, so we're a bit gutted that we don't get to do it. But fingers crossed for Writers Contexts.
