Hey i recentally saw the band 30 Seconds to Mars and one of the opening bands was Cobra Starship for the Welcome to the Universe tour. I saw them on Nov. 18th. They sounded so amazing live! I fell in love with the band and wanted to hear your opionion of this wonderful band
The lead singer is Gabe Saporta who is very energetic and makes the show livley and entertaining. He jumps around on the drum set and then screams and brings a squirt gun out. Just a very fun person to watch perform. He cant rap when they arent touring with the three other bands who perform the hit" Snakes on a Plane" so he pulls a person from the audiance. He did a truley amazing job singing in place of William Beckett (( The Academy Is...)), Travis McCoy (( Gym Class Heros)) and Maja Ivarsson ((The Sounds)). Gabe was born in Oct. 11 1979 in Montevideo, Uruguay. He is also in another band Midtown and is the lead singer and bassiest.
The keyboardest is Elisa Schwartz..at the concert she never played anything until the Snakes on a Plane song. I think shes more for show though but she was pretty cool.
The rest of the band isnt specified what instument they play. But the other members include Alex Suarez,Ryland Blackinton, and Nate Navarro. Alex and Ryland have started their own band called " The Ivy League". Nate was also a part of the band that you may have heard of " Amor For Sleep".
Some related pictures of the band:
((This is from the snakes on a plane video shoot, so its just one person of the band in here. From left to right: Samual L. Jackson, who appered in the video. William Beckett, The Academy is..., Travis McCoy, Gym Class Heros. Gabe Saporta, Cobra Starship. Maja Ivarsson, The Sounds.))
same here so dont feel like your the only who loved then before everyone. -_- thats why i made this. OH thast awesome that you meet them though! how was that?
I'm only a fan of the Snakes on a Plane song...sorry. I tried out a few of the others with high expectations from the Snakes on a Plane song and they just didnt do it for me...oh well..
