 | July 17th, 2009 at 08:50am Honestly, I prefer the story of St. Jimmy, Jesus, and Whatsername. That's just my person opinion and has nothing do to with the overall success of the album. I think it's more in deph and more thought was put into it. You don't get a song like Jesus Of Suburbia, Letterbomb, and Homecoming often let alone joined into the same album. |

St. Jimmy's story is something everyone can relate to.
I'm not a huge fan of 21CB, it sounds good, but it's just not Green Day to me. |

I mean, I understand St. Jimmy's story because I can relate to it.
I like 21CB, but I still don't fully get it.. |

 | July 19th, 2009 at 10:21pm I agree!
The Jimmy/Whatsername story really fascinated me. To be honest, I haven't understood the Christian/Gloria story yet - I absolutely love the new album though! - but it feels like it's mostly about politics. American Idiot carried so much more emotion, at least to me. (: |

 | July 25th, 2009 at 06:25am I love how Christian and Gloria seem like complete opposites. Gloria's optimistic and idealistic, Christian's a destructive nihilist.
On the other hand, it's easier to relate to Jimmy/Jesus. He's a frustrated kid who wants to find himself. Whatsername's just kind of a rebel.
In the end, I like both stories, but I think I like Christian/Gloria a tiny bit better. |

| July 25th, 2009 at 07:33am Jimmy, Jesus and Whatsername. No competition. Why? Because the story is just better. After 4 long and tedious years, I still have no flippin clue what hell is going on. Is Jesus Jimmy? Is Jimmy Jesus? Is he neither? Furthermore, you can create one unified character out of the three of them: Saint Whatsername of Suburbia. I might be biased though, because I don't really like 21st Century Breakdown. |

| July 26th, 2009 at 07:06am I think Christian and Gloria are Jesus/Jimmy and Whatsername with names...or grown up rather? Afterall, the American Idiot musical is using songs from 21st Century Breakdown. |

There's like no word you can use to say how insanely incredible the story is. |

 | July 27th, 2009 at 06:32am Jesus/Whatsername, I think 21stCB is a good album and all, but the Gloria/Christian relationship thing seems a little complicated and boring. |

| July 27th, 2009 at 10:29pm I like American Idiot better, for the storyline. Also though, I think Gloria and Christian seem a little too Bonnie and Clyde or Sid and Nancy. Just feels repetitive. |

At least storyline wise. I don't like who they picked to play whatsername in the music video for Jesus of Suburbia. That's not how i see Whatsername or St.Jimmy really. |
