Not in front of kids who are easily swayed say, Year 8s. Like how in To Kill A Mockingbird, the teacher's criticising some sorta govt. (i forget) in front of Scout. Yeah.. not that. But that's like saying a non-secular state is bad. What if it can be good?? You never know.

And...you can never really make your opinion up unless you have two sides of the argument. Not at all.
I don't here enough opinions, political or otherwise at my school. In RE, my teacher reluctantly gives her views, but they are mainly on stuff like contraception or abortion, not political. I think i've already mentioned my physics teacher, but he only brings it up occasionally.
The only other time i've heard an opinion is when my english teacher muttered something about Stalin being evil.
People at my school are so...insular. They don't see the outside world, and I think it is a damn shame.

My damn Math teacher is constantly voicing opinions. Government, "the youth today", music, movies, you name and her stupid mouth is going. I can honestely say it does interfer with learning. After hearing about " kids these days have absolutely no respect and it makes me wonder why Im even teaching" or " the stupidity of this generation.." so many times makes it very hard to consentrate on math instead of wanting to smack her, and politics, we can waste a weeks worth of class on that, she wrote me up the other day for profanity to staff for saying "The ignorance of some of the statements I heard today was astounding" I wasnt even directing at her.

depends on the grade, if its like 10th grade thats ok beacuse the studints understand and have there own views but i mean if it is like in 2nd grade thats dumb

I think you should have oppotunities to debate politics in the classroom, properly. Students should be taught how to present their opinions and listen to others, that people are entitled to opinions, etc etc...
I think that teachers should have the right to express their political views in the classroom. Not to force extremist beliefs, but to discuss.

There should be political debates in the classroom but teachers should keep their personal political opinions to themselves. It is important that people in the classrooms learn about politics, even current events... but they should discuss both sides and not just one.
Well if you can't summarise your learnings to form an opinion then you're just full of useless information that you aren't really putting to any use. It's good to have opinions, but sometimes you have to be left to base them on your own knowledge. Not other's beliefs.

Ok, exactly, you dont base it on others ideas, which is why Teachers shouldnt speak their views in class, only help the Class to understand the situation, so that they can draw their own conclusions.
