John Lydon bashes Green Day... Again
In an interview for Q magazine, former Sex Pistols singer John Lydon jumped on his high horse and lashed out at the Arctic Monkeys, and Green Day, stating "[The Arctic Monkeys are] not a band. That's a
showbiz construct. A mockery. That's very much like that awful band Green Day or Avril Lavigne”. For more information on the subject, visit Gigwise.com.
mike hranica, I agree with you one some things. Yes Green Day lost their punk ways but they get older and generations change, whatever. But still it sucks when a favorite band of yours get's insulted. :P Except Avril I can see her getting insulted i never liked her much. But anywho generations change.

i totally agree with him. his opinion is that green day is awful. that green day and avril lavigne are sad excuses of 'punk' artists. because they say they are punk rock and turn out to be anything but.
unfortunately, green day lost it's punk edge a long time ago. there's nothing wrong with what he is saying. just because he bashed your favorite band, doesn't make him the worst ever. that's just how he feels, and there's people like me who totally agree with what he is saying.

Who cares. He slams everyone. It's nothing new.

What an a$ in my opinion. When I first heard of this I was like it can't be true but reading it twice it changed my whole opinion about sex pistols. They can f*ck off and die. Hopefully I won't get banned for saying the bad words. .-.

I'm gonna say this and I don't want a bunch of Sex Pistols fans coming after me with pitchforks:
THIS BAND SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm sick of people saying that they influenced Green Day. If you ask any member of the band, they are three thousand times more likely to say The Ramones or The Clash influenced them the most.
I'm sorry if my comment made any Sex Pistol fan angry, but that's just how I feel.

People like that can suck it in my opinion.

irony lol
BREASTS, March 6th, 2010 at 11:34:15am
I think he's just one of those dudes that has to put other people down to make himself feel better and more "punk". People like that can suck it in my opinion.
This.Useless.Heart., March 6th, 2010 at 01:40:51am
"because he mearly stated his opinion in a rant"
...Isnt that what's happening in the comments you just said people had no reason to make?
Kurtni, March 5th, 2010 at 02:02:34pm
I'm sorry, but I don't quite see any reason for you all to talk this way about him, because he mearly stated his opinion in a rant. He has every right to do this. (well except catagorising avril lavigne as punk in any form). And that's all I am saying on the matter. Thank you (most likely noone reads this)

He should stick to butter adverts, not music.
Sherlock Holmes, March 4th, 2010 at 04:52:46pm
Whether or not he has any right to make comments about them, he does have a point.
BREASTS, March 4th, 2010 at 04:22:58pm
Does John Lydon dislike Green Day because he geniunely thinks they are not good...or is it because they aren't Great Butter?
Yes, late but I don't care. Yes, be all "ooh look at me I iz so PUNK yet...adverts and celebrity jungle nonsense"?
Silly.
The Doctor, March 3rd, 2010 at 03:11:52pm
maybe when he stops making butter adverts i'll have more respect for his ~punk ethics~
cabot gal, March 3rd, 2010 at 11:22:52am
:( The singer of my favourite band, dissing my other favourite band. Cofusing and upsetting :(
The Riot Master, March 3rd, 2010 at 11:16:32am
Ugh. That guy used to be my idol. Now I just think he's pretty much a sad, grumpy old man that sang 'God Save The Queen' and then does a British Butter Advert.
How hypocritcal of him.
