You're the best thing in town, chapter 4
Well, I guess since that was an old issue of the Rolling Stones, it wasn't updated. So I didn't expect what came out of Jacky's mouth.
"Wow. I so didn't expect that." I said, not realizing I had said it out loud. "Congrats, and come on in!" We walked into the house, and everyone wasn't as shocked as I was except for Mike. He was crying too. I had never seen Mike cry before. Well there's a first for everything.

She looks so different now. Well, she looks like a woman now. But her boyfriend, Brendon, he was pretty good looking. I guess she got the attraction to frontmen of underground bands from her birth mother and from me, because he was from Panic! At the disco. I totally reckonized him from posters in my office at Adeline Records. We all sat down and had lunch. We were all asking Jacky questions about what she had been doing for 3 years. When the chatter had died down, she got up and gestured me to follow her into the kitchen. So there she told me why she had come. To ask for our permission to marry Brendon. Well, I though he was I nice guy, but knowing Billie's proctective side, this wasn't going to be an easy talk.
"Your father will be shocked... " I stopped there when Jacky butted in.
"He already knows. I told him Brendon was my fiancé when he asked me who he was." Jacky answered.
"Okay, well that's settled then. We should get back out there before they miss us." I said. So we went back to the table and continued with our meal.

Later, in the evening, Dad opened his presents. Uncle Tre gave him a dildo, to tease him about being bisexual. Uncle Tre was always a hoot when I was growing up, so it was great to get some comic relief I had missed out on for 3 years. Uncle Mike gave Dad a custom made Toilet seat, with all the bands he hated on it. I thought that was really creative. Adie gave her husband a pair of Converse, with graffiti prints on them. Then, Brendon and I got our gift and gave it to Dad. He looked at it and opened it to see a box of guitar picks with The Ramones, The Who, The Misfits, Operation Ivy and more. He loved them and then opened the card. Boy was he in for another surprise. Then he read it out loud, just like he did with the other cards.
Warning, birthdays aren't happy times. They are sad times because you loose another year of your life.
He opened the card to the next page, which read...
Just Kidding! We hope you have a great birthday, and enjoy yourself. Take it easy, grandpa. There was laughter, then dead silence.
"Oh my God, really?" Adie said. I nodded my head.
Adie, Claudia, and Emily ran up to me and hugged me with tons of congratulations. The men and children, were just sitting trying to figure out why they were all so happy all of a sudden for Jacky. Mike figured it out first and came and said congratulations. Then he looked at his watch.
"Holy, shitake mushrooms! We have to be going." Mike said. We all said goodbye. Finally, when Mike and Emily left the house, Dad got what I meant by 'Grandpa'
"Oh my god! Congrats! But I'm too young to be a grandpa." Dad said. He came over and hugged me.
It took a long time for Tre to figure this out. Dad opened my present at 7:00 pm and now it was 2:30am.
"Tre, we have to go home. The kids are asleep and I'm going to fall over." Claudia said.
"Oh my god. Congrats Jacky! Are you pregnant?" Uncle Tre asked, totally excited.
"Yes, I am. Good Job figuring it out so quickly." I said to Uncle Tre.
"Sorry, for taking too long for your pleasing, your majesty." Tre retorted. He stopped of, pulling Claudia with Frankito in her arms. Ramona said goodbye as she followed behind her father. When we thought Tre had finally left, he came running through the door.
"I just realized something. I'm going to be a Great Uncle!" Tre yelled. Adie tried to shut the door in Tre's face, but it didn't work.
"How does this sound... Great Uncle Tre?" Tre said.
"Get out of my fucking house, Tre." Dad said, "or I'll call the cops. Uncle Tre walked away, finally, and we watched him drive off.
"Well, he was something." Brendon said.
"Trust me. That's Uncle Tre being mature." I said, "You haven't seen him drunk either, so wait to judge." We all laughed as we walked inside. Adie motioned us to come into the living room. Oh God. I hope they are okay with me marrying Brendon. I love him, and it would really hurt if they said no.

When Adrienne motioned us to come sit in the living room, Juliet looked worried. I hope she's okay. We all sat down, and then I figured out why she was worried. We talked about us getting married and the baby.
"So, are you going to wait until you have the baby, to get married?" Adrienne asked.
"Yes, or else I won't be able to find a dress my size." Juliet said laughing. I loved to see her smile. She had always been depressed about her life for the three years I've known her. It's was great to see her smile. That is what attracted me to her; her smile. I started to remember the day I met her. Oh, it was the best day of my life...
"Hurry up Brendon! We are going to be late for our gig!" Brent called out to me, really angry with me. I was kind of depressed that day. My step dad was drunk last night and he started a fight with my mom. I tried to stop him from hurting her, but he wouldn't. Then I punched him and he passed out. My mom thanked me, but didn't stand up for me while my step dad, Mark, beat me in the kitchen in front of my 3 siblings. No one helped me. I hated my family I hated my life.
"Ok, chill, I'm coming." I said, grabbing the amps, and pilling them into the trunk. I got into the car and Spencer's dad started the car. We were slowly, but surely making our way to the club my band preformed at, called Punked Out! My best friends and I were in a band called Panic! At the disco. I was lead vocals, Brent Wilson was bass, Spencer Smith was drums, and Ryan Ross was guitar. We finally arrived, and I got really nervous. The place was crowded with teens, some older then us, waiting for the show. We got our stuff set up on the stage. We covered blink-182 songs, but I had wrote my first song. It was called I Write The Sins Not Tragedies. We were going to perform it for the first time. I was so nervous. Then they called us on the stage. We ran on and started playing Man Overboard.
"So sorry... it's over. So sorry... it's over. There's so much more that I wanted... There's so much more I needed... Time keeps moving on and on and on. Soon we'll all be gone." I sang to the crowd. The song continued, as I put my heart and soul into each word I sang. Then we preformed First Date, What's my age again, and then we preformed I Write The Sins Not Tragedies.
"Oh, well imagine... as I'm pacing the pews in a church corridor and I can't help but to hear, no I can't help but to hear an exchanging of words... " I sang, with more feeling than I have ever put into a song, I covered. Well, no wonder. I wrote the song, so it's going to be more emotional, because I totally relate to it. More than the other songs anyways. Alright, back to the story I continued with the song, reaching the chorus, when I saw the most beautiful girl in the whole world. She had black hair, put up in a ponytail, with some loose strands hanging beside her face. Her black hair had red and white chocolate streaks. Her eyes were the most breathtaking green eyes I have ever seen. She was smiling as she moved along to the music. I carried on, as normal, but never took my eyes of her. Then, when we were done, everyone was clapping and cheering. I looked at the girl. She was clapping madly and hooting as well. Then, I saw her go towards the bar. I quickly got the stage and ran to the bar. She wasn't there. Maybe she was heading to the door. So I decided to take a walk, for a while.
I whistled out Blvd of Broken Dreams, as I walked down the block. I was whistling the chorus, when I heard a scream. I ran toward the sound, until I found myself in an alley. I saw a guy raping some girl. I hate seeing jerks like that. So I ran up to the guy and pulled him off of her. He tried to fight me off, but I pushed him to the ground. He got up and pushed me against a wall, and punched me in the face. I wasn't that hard of a punch, so I wasn't knocked out. He ran towards the girl again but I caught up to him and punched him in the face. It was a perfect aim. His nose was bleeding, as he limped away from the alleyway, leaving me here with this girl. I slowly caught my breath again, and I started walking out of the alleyway, when the girl grabbed my hand.
"Wait. You saved me. How can I ever repay you?" She asked, looking straight into my eyes. I looked at her properly. It was hard to see this late at night, but I recognized her from the club. Her eyes were full of tears, and she suddenly gave me a hug.
"It's okay, he's gone now." I said. She pulled away from me, and I looked into her now bloodshot green eyes, and still found the most beautiful girl behind them.
"I sorry I jumped on you like that, I've just have had no one that ever cared for me. Well, my parent cared, but they didn't understand. So I ran away. Now I can't go back." She said wiping the tears from her eyes, with the end of her hoodie sleeve.
"You wanna sit down?" I asked.
"Sure." We found a bench and sat down.
"So, what is your name?" I questioned.
"Jacqueline, but my old pals called me Jacky, before they moved away." She said.
"Are you from around here? Never seen you before." I said. Did I tell you I live in a small town neighboring Las Vegas. We all know eachother by name, in this town, so that's why I didn't regconize her. The town is called, Vegan Las Adios.
"No, I'm from Berkeley, California." She said. We decided to walk down by the bridge that enters into Las Vegas. She told me about her life. She wouldn't tell me who her dad was though. I wonder why she is so secretive about her Dad.
"Oh god, it's so beautiful." She said. I looked towards her and saw that she was looking over the bridge.
"Yeah, it is pretty. Not as pretty as you." I said. I saw her blush, under the streetlamp, as I felt myself go red. We looked over the edge, for a while. After A while, I looked over to her, and saw her climbing over the edge of the bridge.
"What are you doing?!" I asked, not knowing what to do.
"Ending it. I can't live the way I'm living. If I go back home I'll be unhappy. But here, I have nobody, and no place to live." She said.
"But you don't have to jump. Please don't." I said. She went fully over, as she looked over the bay.
"I have to. It feels like I'm the neglected child. I'm the mistake. I should of never been born. I'm just helping out my family." Jacky said, ready to let go.
"Wait. You can't jump! I won't be able to forgive myself, ever." I said.
"Why, there's nothing you can do. You don't even know me." Jacky said. That killed me. I kind of had a crush on her and she didn't even know, and she was about to jump.
"Yes, but you can't do this to me. I love you." I said. She turned around, shocked.
"What did you say?" Jacky's body was totally facing mine.
"I said... I love... you." I confessed, "Ever since I lay my eyes on you." She looked kind of surprised, but then she just smiled.
"Now will you just come down, you're scaring me." I said. She just got closer to my face. I moved closer to hers. She put her arms around my head, and brought her lips to mine. Our kiss seemed like it lasted for eternity, but only for 30 seconds. She was a really good kisser.
"Now help me get off. I'm kinda stuck." Jacky said. I picked her up and brought her over the edge of the bridge.
"Thank you, Brendon Urie of Panic! At the disco. I loved your show, by the way." Jacky said.
"Thank you." I said. I loved when people complimented our band. It let me know that people actually like our music.
"By the way... I love you too." Jacky said. "Ever since you saved me from that guy and from my own self, I loved you. You are the only person I know who cares about me this much, and I barely even know you.
Well, she got to know me, as we walked the other way, towards my house. When we got to my house I got the guts to ask her out. She said yes.
"Well, I'll see you around." She said
"Want to go out with me." I said.
"Oh. Sure!" She said, "Oh, uh... I don't have a place to stay. Do you have any space?" She asked, sheepishly.
"Oh, yeah, sure." I was glad she didn't have a place to stay. That meant more time alone with her. We weren't at my house, we were at an apartment I rented out. I rented it, so I could get away from my family occasionally. Jacky knew that, because I told her, as we walked down the deserted boulevard.
"Sorry, it's not much, since I only live here once a week."
"That's okay. It's still some place I can sleep." Jacky said. I smiled and showed her to an empty room.
"Here you go." I said. She smiled back to me
"Goodnight." She said.
"Good night." I said as I closed the door.
"Wait, Brendon." She said.
"Yes, Jacky?" I asked.
"Thanks... for everything." Jacky said. I smiled to myself as I walked to my bedroom and I went to bed. That night, I fell asleep instantly. I woke up to the sound of...
"Brendon. Are you okay? You seem out of it." Adie said. I snapped out of my thoughts suddenly, when I heard Adie speak.
"Yeah, I'm fine." I said, "Just thinking."
"Well, we better get going. I feel like I'm going to pass out, if I don't." Jacky said.
"Okay, but pack up from your hotel, and stay here tomorrow, alright?" Adie said.
"Okay, I promise." Jacky said, "Love you Adie, love you Daddy."
"Love you too." Billie and Adie said in unison. We all hugged each other and left the house.
"I love you, Brendon." Jacky said to me.
"I love you too, Jacky." I said as Jacky rested her head on my shoulder, falling fast asleep. I stared the ignition and drove off, away from the house we entered, to start our hectic day.
"Wow. I so didn't expect that." I said, not realizing I had said it out loud. "Congrats, and come on in!" We walked into the house, and everyone wasn't as shocked as I was except for Mike. He was crying too. I had never seen Mike cry before. Well there's a first for everything.
