You're the best thing in town, chapter 5

Jacky's POV

I woke up with the sun shinning right in my eyes, making me squint. I slowly got out of bed, to get changed. I headed over to my duffel bag, and searched for something to wear. I found my Misfits top, and a pair of jeans. I got up, to go take a shower, when I felt two arms come around my waist. Brendon kissed my neck, and then turned me around, and kissed me on the lips.

"Hey baby. Let go of me for a sec. I need to take a shower." I said.

"I'm coming." Brendon said.

"Fine." I said. He grabbed a black shirt, burgundy tie, black pants, black Ramones belt, and a black suit jacket. We then took a shower, and got dressed. We packed up and got ready to move in with my Dad and Adie.

"You look kind upset. What's up?" Brendon asked, as he started the car.

"Nothing, I fine." I lied.

"You are not fine. You can't fool me. I've lived with you for 3 years." Brendon said.

"It's just that, I'm scared and I'm not ready for a baby, at all." I said. Brendon gave me a lopsided smile.

"I know. I wasn't ready either. I wasn't even ready to fall in love." Brendon said. You just came and it just happened

"Same." I said. He was right. It all happened so fast...

I woke up in the middle of the night. I was so scared my Dad would come find me.

I needed Brendon.

So I went into his room and shook him awake.

"Brendon, I can't sleep." I said.

"Well, have a glass of water." Brendon said.

"It won't work. My Dad's going to try to find me."

"Isn't that a good thing though?"

"No!"

"Why, is he abusive? If he comes to the door, I'll kick his ass." Brendon said, clenching his fists.

"No, it's just, I can't go back home. My life is hopeless, back home." I said

"Well, you can sleep with me, if that makes you feel any better." He said.

"Thanks." I said. I lay down, on the other side of the bed, and just snuggled into the pillow.

"Hey, today when you said you love me, did you mean it. Cause I sure meant every word I said." Brendon said. I did kind of mean it. But we were moving too fast. I've only known him for six hours. It was hard because I did have I thing for him.

"Can we be just friends, first?" I asked.

"Ok, sure." Brendon said. He got out of bed.

"I'm just going to have a drink of water, okay?" Brendon said, as he walked out of the room. I had totally broken his heart; after all he has done for me. I felt so guilty. He let me stay in his house, he saved my life, and from being raped, and this is what I give him. A broken heart, in return. I slowly fell asleep.

The next morning, I woke up and found that Brendon had never came back to bed. I went downstairs, for something to drink, and I saw Brendon, fast asleep, on the table. He looked so cute when he slept.

He was sleeping on top of a piece of paper. I slid the paper out, from under his head, and read it. It was called, I Constantly Thank God For Esteban. I loved the chorus. It went like this:

"Strike up the band!
Whoa-oh, the conductor is beckoning
Come congregation; let's sing it like you mean it
No. Don't you get it, don't you get it? Now don't you move.
Strike up the band!
Whoa-oh, the conductor is beckoning
Come congregation; let's sing it like you mean it
No. Don't you get it, don't you get it? Now don't you move.

Just stay where I can see you.
Douse the lights!
We sure are in for a show tonight"

"What are you doin'." Brendon said. He looked at the paper and blushed.

"This is really good." I said. His face lit up, a bit, "I like the chorus. Really catchy!"

"Thanks." He said. He looked kind of embarrassed, so I put the paper down and changed the subject.

"Well, about last night, I just am not girlfriend material. I just don't want to get you involved." I said.

"What do mean by 'involved'?" Brendon said, curiously.

"Oh, never mind." I said.

"Come on, you can tell me. I don't like it when people leave me wondering." Brendon said. Then there was a knock on the door.

"Hello, we are looking for a girl, about 15 years old, Black hair with white and red streaks, and green eyes. About 5'3. Have you seen anyone with that description, around here?" The man at the door said. I recognized his voice. He was my Dad's bodyguard. I hope Brendon says no.

"No, never seen anyone like that, in my life." Brendon said. I was relieved.

"Alright, have a nice day." The guy said. Brendon shut the door behind him, and came back to the kitchen.

"Is that what you mean by, involved." Brendon asked.

"Kind of." I told him about my dad being Billie Joe Armstrong, and growing up in total neglect from classmates, because they thought I was just a snobby rich girl. I also told him that my dad has a bodyguard, which was the guy at the door. He would beat Brendon up, if he knew I was staying with him.

"That's what." I said.

"Oh. I'm not scared of him. I've been beat up my whole life." Brendon said.

"Well, whatever, but don't do stupid stuff for me. I love you and I would never forgive myself." I said.

"What did you say?" Brendon said.

"I would never be able to forgive myself." I stated.

"No, before that?" Brendon questioned.

"I love you," I said.

"Oh, well you know I love you back." Brendon said.

"I'm sorry about last night. I'll go out with you." I said.

"Alright." He said. He turned around and kissed me on the lips. It was just as good as the one last night. I put my hand around his neck and deepened the kiss. It lasted for 5 mins, but I wanted it to last forever. That's when I knew I was in love.

"Don't worry. It'll all be fine. We can get married, right after you have the baby." Brendon said.

"Yeah." I said.

"Were here." Brendon said. He got out of the car and got the bags. I walked up to the door, with a couple bags and rang the doorbell.

"Ding Dong." The doorbell chimed. Jakob opened the door.

"Hi Jacky!" Jakob said. He hugged me really tight.

"I heard you are going to have a baby. Does that mean I'm going to be an uncle? Is you boyfriend from that band that has that music video with the clowns in it? I love that music video. Do I get to meet the rest of the band? Is your baby a boy or girl? Will you name it Jakob Junior if it's a boy? That would be cool. He would be named after a store. Do you like Joey's black hair? Do you think he is a mini Dad? Why did you run away? Why didn't you come say hi, more often? When are you... " Jakob said.

"Jakob, too many questions. One at a time." Adie said, interrupting.

"It's okay, I'll answer them later. With everybody. You guys deserve to know why I ran away." I said. I felt tears streaming down my cheeks.

"It's okay, don't cry. I'm sure you had a good reason." Adie said. "Come in."
I walked inside and put my stuff down near the door. We walked into the living room, and sat on the sofa.

"So, tell me. Why did you run away? I think I know why, but I want to hear it from you." Adie said.

"What's the matter, Jacky?" Brendon said.

"Hormones." I said, wiping my face a bit.

"Oh, well I'll just let you cool off." Brendon said. "Where can I put our bags, Ms. Armstrong?" Brendon asked.

"Oh, I'll show you. Be right back, Jacky."

"Alright." I sat there for a few minutes thinking about all the things that were happening to me so sudden.

"I'm back." Adie said, as she entered the room and took a seat next to me.

"Well, why I ran away was... " I told her as I remembered that day in my head...

I got home from school, with a bleeding nose, tons of scrapes, a blue stomach, and a massive headache. I couldn't stand it anymore. Always beaten up because I was an emo. It wasn't fair that I was always followed home by teenies, trying to catch a glimpse of me famous father. Beating me up, when I wouldn't let them in the house. I had always been with him, through his whole career. I was pretty used to no privacy, whatsoever. But I wanted to be free. It felt like I was screaming at the top of my lungs for someone to help me, but nobody can hear me. I want to leave so bad.

So that's what I did. I left all the pain behind. I packed what I needed, some money, and left. I wrote my parents a note, so they knew I ran away. I went on a bus, and picked a random destination, a small town called Vegan Las Adios. It took 3 hours to get there, but I finally made it. It was 5:30, and I had no place to stay. This was great. I looked across the street and saw a club full of people. The club was called Punked Out! The band that was playing that night was Panic! At the disco. They were one of my favourite underground bands. I know they didn't have any songs of their own, but If they did, they would have so much potential.

I walked across the street, and walked inside. I waited half an hour, and then they came out, they played Man Overboard and other songs by blink-182. Then they had a surprise for the fans. They wrote a song of there own called, 'I Write The Sins, Not Tragedies'. I loved it! They were really good.

After they were done their performance, I left to find a place to sleep on the street. I was slowly falling asleep, when some guy pinned me down. He was trying to take off my clothes, as I fought him off. I screamed my lungs out. I knew no one would come help a loser like me, but it's worth a try.

Then some guy came and beat the shit out of the jerk trying to rape me. I then recognized the guy, as the lead singer of Panic! At the disco. He had saved me...

"Wow, um... that's all I need to know, but if you want to tell me about how you and Brendon met, well I'd like to hear it.

So I told her how we met. Right after I finished my story, Brendon came downstairs. He looked like a mess.

"Brent left the band." Brendon said. He started to sob.

"It's okay, babe. Don't worry. I'm sure someone can fill in for him. I've got a friend that can play the bass." I said. Brendon smiled, a small smile at me and came to sit on the other side of me.

"Well, I've got to do some housework, so we'll catch up later." Adie said. She left us alone in the living room.

"So, what you wanna do?" Brendon asked.

"What is there to do?" I asked. Brendon smiled and put his arm around me.

"Well, there is one thing that comes to mind... " Brendon said.

"Brendon, is that all you think about!?" I said. I playfully hit his shoulder.

"Come on." Brendon said.

"No, let's watch TV." I said. He agreed, and we watched some Sponge Bob. Then we started to make out, right on the couch, as my Dad walked in.
"Not on my couch." Dad said. We stopped and sat up to watch more TV.

"Guys, lunch is ready." Adie yelled from the kitchen. We got up, and Brendon held my hand as we went into the kitchen.
"Thanks so much for letting us stay here, Mrs. Armstrong." Brendon said.
"No problem. But please call me Adie." Adie said. We sat at the table and started to eat. Jakob asked his questions, one-by-one. I answered them all the best that I could. They all seemed to be excited for the new baby. I couldn't wait myself. I could see Adie liked my fiancé, but I wanted to know what my Dad thought. So we waited until my brothers left the table.

"Well, you obviously came back to ask me for permission to marry Brendon, and I think, he is a great boy, and whatever makes you happy makes me happy. So, if you want to marry him, I will be totally on your side. He seems like a nice guy." Dad said.

"Oh, thank you so much, Dad. And you to Adie." I said. She grinned.

"It's about time you called me mom. Even though I'm not your mom biologically, it doesn't sound right when you call me Adie." Adie said.

"Well, okay... Mom." I said. Brendon clapped, pretending that it was an accomplishment. I then smacked him, playfully.

"What was that for?" Brendon asked me.

"Not the time for sarcasm." I said. Brendon rubbed his shoulder for a while.

"So, who wants dessert?" Mom said, knowing that we all wanted some of that pie that was sitting on the counter.

"Did somebody say dessert?" Joey said. He bolted down the stairs, and sat in the chair closest to the pie.

"Who said it was for you?" Mom said.

"Mom's kidding. One of you can have my slice. I'm not going to have any." I said.

"Thanks Jacky!" Joey said, reaching for my plate. Mom gave Jakob a slice of pie.
The two brothers ate their pie like they had never had pie before. When they were done, they left.

"I'm going to lie down, upstairs, kay?" I said to Brendon. He nodded his head, and I went up the stairs, and got lost. I finally ran into Jakob, who showed me where our room was.

Brendon's POV

"I've heard your band play. You guys are really good." Billie said. I kind of got embarrassed talking about my band.

"Oh, well thank you, but we might end our band." I said, "Brent, the bassist quit our band."

"I sure you can find a replacement." Billie said.

"It would be terrible, if you guys just disappeared, off the charts." Adie said.

"I guess." I said, getting uncomfortable with the situation here. "Well, I'm going to check on Jacky. She doesn't look that good."

"Alright, you go do that." Billie said. What a relief. I couldn't sit alone with Jacky's parents ever again. That was so awkward. Well, I got to our room, and Jacky was lying in the bed, fast asleep. She was so peaceful when she slept. It must be tiring carrying our baby around. Well, I decided to go to sleep, as well.

Adie's POV

Now Billie and I were alone. I loved alone time. I barely ever got that. Now that Brendon was upstairs with Jacky, and Joey and Jakob were playing in their rooms, we could be alone, for a little while.

"Well, that guy is a really good guy. He is like me." Billie said, smiling at me.

"That's because you still act and think like your fifteen." I said. Billie smiled.

"Well, we are alone. What you wanna do?" Billie asked. I smiled devilishly

"You know exactly what I wanna do." I said, waiting for an answer.

"Oh, that's exactly what I was thinking." He said, as he picked me up and carried me up to the bedroom. I think you know exactly what we did.
