You're So Last Summer, chapter 4
I studied myself in the mirror. I think I looked okay.
I walked around my apartment, and at some point I realized it was stupid! Then I heard a knocking at my door, so I squealed, and opened the door.
"Hey," Adam said.
"Hey," I said.
"You ready?" Adam asked.
"Yup," I said.
We walked out of my apartment and out onto the street.
"I hope you don't mind us walking," Adam said.
"It's no problem, I walk everywhere, its fun," I said.
"Okay, you look really good," Adam said.
"Haha thanks, you look very good too," I said.
"Thanks," Adam said.
"Any time," I said.
"So do you really wanna be a lawyer?" Adam asked.
"Yeah, I think so," I said.
"Did your parent's like pressure you or something?" Adam asked as we walked on the sidewalk.
"My dad was a lawyer, so my mom wanted me to be one, and she said she won't pay for my college if I'm not in to be a lawyer," I said.
"Did you ever try to talk to your mom?" He asked.
"Ha! I try but she doesn't wanna hear it," I said.
"Well what about your dad?" Adam asked.
"He's tried to convince mom, but it doesn't work," I said.
"Oh," Adam said.
"Yeah but anyways, I don't like talking about myself what about you, what did you wanna be when you were younger?" I asked.
"In a band," He said laughing.
We both laughed together.
"Here we are," Adam said.
He opened the door to a fancy beach side restaurant.
The waiter sat us down and we looked at the menu.
"What would you like to drink?" The waiter asked us.
"Iced-T is fine thank you," I said.
"Same please," Adam said.
"So what are you getting?" Adam asked.
"The salad," I said.
"Okay I will too," He said and smiled at me.
God that smile melts my heart.
"Thanks for coming out with me, its probably really weird," Adam said.
"No it's not that weird," I said laughing.
"Okay, I don't want you to be uncomfortable," He said.
"Its fine," I said.
"So do you have like a boyfriend or anything?" He asked.
"Nope never had one I guess... " I said.
"That's cool I only had one a long time ago," He said.
"Yeah... " I said.
We ate our food and then we left and walked down to the beach.
"Thanks for the dinner it was really good," I said
"No problem, I'm glad you could come," He said.
We walked down the beach for a while in silence it was really pretty. In the back of my mind "Summer Skin" was playing. Then I felt Adam's hand go in mine. I looked at him and he smiled at me and I smiled back. We held hands all the way back. We finally got back to my apartment around maybe 10:30.
"I had a really good time tonight." I said.
"Me too." Adam said.
He gave me a hug, and when we pulled away he kissed me. It's as if this might work for a minute things might be okay. I smiled at him.
"Do you wanna come in for a while?' I asked.
"Yeah that'd be cool," He said.
"You have a really nice apartment," Adam said.
"Not really but thanks," I said.
We sat down on the couch and talked about random things, like Star Wars, comics, books, and music. We watched Garden State, my favourite movie, and Adam really liked it too. I fell asleep like half way through the movie.
