Kurt Cobain's death-suicide or murder?
I honestly believe it was murder.
I got most of the information in this blog from justiceforkurt.com, as well as one of my Nirvana-fanatic friends.
When Kurt was found, the heroin needles and whatnot were in a box. So, considering he injected 3 TIMES THE LETHAL DOSE, which almost immediately incapacitates or kills you, he would not have had time to have put the needles and stuff in the box, then pick up a gun, and shoot himself.
Not to mention he was shot with a shotgun, not a pistol or handgun, so squeezing the trigger, to shoot his head, would have been nearly impossible, because the kind of gun he used is pretty long, I'd be surprised if his arm was long enough to reach down the barrel and squeeze the trigger.
Then there's the suicide note. None of it could actually be considered a SUICIDE note, it was more like a resignation. Except for the last few lines, which didn't quite match his handwriting-it's too large and loopy. Scan of the suicide note.
And I find it really hard to believe that he had such an immunity that he wouldn't be affected by that much heroine, as some have said.
Many of those close to Kurt at the time of his death said he was not suicidal. Courtney Love's friend Joe Mama visited him in rehab on April 1st, the same day he checked himself out and said he looked "f*cking great!" This is a list of quotes by different people who knew Kurt, and did not think he was suicidal. My favorite is the one in red by Peter Cleary, who says basically, that no one thought Kurt was suicidal until he died, when Courtney started telling everyone that Kurt's hospitilization in Rome was the result of a suicide attempt.
I don't really know how to end this, so...I hope this blog has at least made you think, and you're a little more informed.

I'm SO glad someone brought this topic up!!!!! I totally think he was murdered because i, too, have read up on the investigation and they didn't look far enough into it. Sure, he had weird thoughts going through his head at some times (as i have read from his journals that have been published in the book "Heavier Than Heavan"), but that doesn't mean he was suicidal. I can really tell the difference in the handwriting in the so-called "suicide note". I really hope they find the truth and keep investigating this case, because it is FAR from solved. The police just jumped to conclusions. He was my idol.

I agree. I've lectured my friends so many times about this-how Kurt could not have taken so many drugs, then shot himself. It's makes me so sad. He could still be alive today making a difference.

I think it was murder, the angle's of a shotgun and the head is impossible since I asked an officer that question. Just because someone is having a pretty sh*t life it doesn't mean they want to kill themselves, and the handwriting is't his its plainly obvious. And another thing he was in rehab, he was making the effort to live, so what would he have killed himself for the sake of his wife and child?

She called the cops once saying he was suicidal and had locked himself in a room and had guns and such.
When the cops got there he said he wasn't suicidal, he was in the room to get away from Courtney.
I always thought that was a bit odd.
In any case the cops confiscated the guns.

I don't really know what to believe. Either side has a great arguement. But I think it was suicide. He wanted to die and he never really wanted to be famous, but he couldn't just stop being famous. Anyone who believes that Courtney Love killed him anyway is honestly stupid, because she loved him a lot and cared so much about him. She wouldn't have a reason to kill him anyway.

And you're right about Courtney-when she was afraid someone was going to write something bad about her, she didn't use legal means to keep it from happening, she used intimidation.

I get really sad when I think about this. It's so terrible that such a brilliant, inspiring man had to die at such a young age. I actually don't know what to think. Kurt was a really strange guy, nobody really knew what was going on inside his head. He didn't seem to like fame. I wouldn't have been surprised if it was him who killed himself, but.. the evidence is there.. you can't shoot yourself with a shotgun if your arms aren't long enough, especially when incredibly intoxicated. There would have to have been someone else in the room to help him.
Courtney Love is f*cking messed, who one knows what she's capable of. I guess it's really only Kurt who knows what happened. :\
At least we know he died happy. :\

Yeah, the investigators were pretty careless. The gun and the shell were found on opposing sides of his body and no one ever looked into it.
A guy named El Duce claimed that Courtney approached him about hiring him to kill Kurt, the police never questioned him.

He was pretty smart, though. Maybe one of the investegators or all or whatever didn't say something or did something to cover it up a little. Y'know, I can't remember where I heard it, but they were pretty f*cking careless throughout the whole thing.
Kurt's aunt said she thought it was a suicide note because Boodah was his imaginary friend when he was about 2 years old. She even had a tape of him talking to Boodah.
I'unno. I'm kind of on the neutral side of the whole thing. I agree with Vegemite.
