No, I think Dumbledore was just referring to the fact that Dudley's been spoilt rotten and given everything he wants which has set him up badly for later life. He's not independant at all, he's the size of a baby whale, and he never has to think for himself.

Like in PS, when he's adding 2 onto the number of presents, it took him ages and then Aunt Petunia just told him, rather than getting him to work it out for himself.

Harry's always had to look out for himself, and tbh, he's a lot better off than Dudley, because he can cook, he can clean, he can find his way around and scrape by no matter what the circumstance, which is all thanks to the way he was treated as a child, which will be loads of use when he's living alone.

I understand what you're saying FP and we both could be right or wrong. Twas a thought I had and I thought I would share it. I still stand what by what I said but you could be right too =]

I have this weird hunch about 'Deathly Hallows' and Hallowe'en. 'cause I read somewhere that on Haloween, in the old days, people would always be suspicious of spirits coming back because the veil between the worlds (spirit and real) was thin. And you know, just the idea of...the veil , because I swear the veil in the DOM will make an appearance.

Obviously I have no facts for that except a weird gut feeling, and that could just be the omlette I had for tea

BLEGH @ Omlettes, but that's a really good theory, actually, cos JKR does draw on mythology and old folk tales, which is why a lot of people though Remus has a twin brother (cos in Roman mythology, Romulus and Remus were two brothers who founded Rome) but she said he didn't.

But that's definitely an idea.

Voldermort will die, because I think a large part of the books is about hope, and it'll be a really shit ending if after all this hype, after all the books, and after all the talk about defeating him, he survives.
