Atlantic City, NJ - MGM Arena, April 23rd, 2005

Last night I went to the Atlantic City concert and was happily near the stage on the floor. I got inside the Trump Taj Mahal's Mark G. Etess Arena at about 7:15 and had a 45 minute wait before the show started that involved little bitches pushing their way past me to get closer to the stage. Then at 8, the lights went down and people began to scream as My Chemical Romance came out. As soon as they opened with 'Helena' everyone on the floor pushed forward in one massive movement. Moshing soon followed, in which I was squished between so many jumping bodies I thought I'd pass out from lack of air. The benefit is everyone pushing forward got me even closer to the stage, but when there was no more possible way of getting closer and the crowd didn't stop pushing, me and this girl pushed backward on the count of three. All in all MCR put on a good show and I probably would've enjoyed it more if I could breathe. They ended with 'I'm Not Okay (I Promise)' and gave a message to the girls in the audience that if anyone from a band like Motley Crue promised backstage passes for a view of our tits, to spit in their faces because females aren't worth that degradation. A good message from a rockin' group.

They then left the stage and for a half hour the roadies took down MCR's equipment and got Green Day's stage ready, including warming up the instruments and checking the microphones. At 9 sharp, the Drunken Pink Bunny came out with a six-pack of Budweiser and began to chug one after another and shake his ass, along with stumbling across the stage. People chanted "chug, chug, chug" over and over, and he soon left.

Then the lights lowered and Green Day ran out on stage. I noticed Tre jumping onto the drum platform first and then they broke right into 'American Idiot' followed by 'Jesus of Suburbia' which Billie Joe dedicated to everyone at the show. They were so pumped and got the crowd going. I was standing about five feet away from Mike Dirnt the entire time and at one point where the music came to a lull and he was standing right in front of me, I screamed his name and he looked at me! Billie Joe then kept running back and forth to both sides of the stage and when he was over at our side, he pulled his pants down halfway and semi-mooned us, and then did the same thing for the opposite end of the stage. When 'Holiday' began, Billie Joe said, "This is a big FUCK YOU to the American government. This is 'Holiday'!" Then he introduced Mike and Tre real quick and said to the audience, "And my name's George W. Bush!" Everyone flipped him off and booed and he laughed, "Nah, my name's ASSHOLE!" Then everyone cheered. The song rocked. There are no real descriptive words to really say about any of the songs played, because their performance was worth a thousand words. 'Are We The Waiting' and 'St. Jimmy' came after and then Mike broken into the familiar chords of 'Longview', which got the crowd shouting, 'DOOKIE!'

During 'Hitchin' A Ride' Billie Joe was standing at the edge of the runway part of the stage ad had his hand cupped over himself, having everyone chanted after him, like "Say 'aaaayyyy ooooohhhhh'" And we'd repeat. But the more he kept up, the more he started to moan and then he stuck his hands on his pants and began to wank right there which got the crowd into a frenzy. It's blurry with which song was played next. It was just such an awesome time. When Billie Joe brought the 12-year-old boy onstage to squirt the audience with a super soaker, Billie Joe grabbed the second super soaker and ran over to my side of the stage and squirted us all. And it was much appreciated too because a lot of us were hot, sweaty and dehydrated. A number of girls were passing out and having to be dragged away or carried over the barrier by security.

The bassist that was pulled up during 'Knowledge was standing right in front of me so when Mike was pointing him out to have him come up on stage the spot light was bathing us all. The guitarist Billie Joe chose was a girl and when he asked her what her name was she replied, "Adriana," to which Billie Joe replied with a laugh, "That sounds familiar." The three kids that were chosen did really well. The bassist jumped around like he owned the place, much like Mike does, and the pianist/trombone player had to mouth to him to stay in one place. After all was said and done, he was brought back onstage to run and dive off the stage. And the guitarist Adriana got to keep the guitar. I saw her after the show getting into her car carrying a long cardboard box and the guitar was obviously inside. I wanted to give her a thumbs up but she drove away before I could.

When Billie Joe was introducing the band, he introduced Tre as "the best fucking drummer in the world and the man I love to shower naked with.because that's the only way to shower.Mister Tre Cool!" That was fucking hilarious. I was jumping so high and hard and screaming so loud that the guy in front of me turned around with a smile and said, "You got quite the voice on you." I didn't care that I was screaming in his ear, I was having so much fucking fun! When things slowed down with 'Wake Me Up When September Ends' I found my opportunity to catch my breath and calm down a bit. I even helped two little Asian fans get closer to the front because they were short and couldn't see. I was so psyched the whole time. Green Day put on a show I will never forget. My throat was so sore, my legs were tired and I was sweaty and dehydrated but it was all well worth it. I bought myself a black tour shirt that I'm wearing right now, and even bought a white tour shirt for my little brother, along with getting a long green poster that has the guys and the lyrics to 'American Idiot' on it. 60 bucks well spent, I tell ya. As soon as I was sitting in my uncle's van my right leg got a painful cramp, twice in a row. Again, well worth it.

Green Day rocked us to the core. I could feel it in my bones and I can't wait to see them in concert again. Whenever that'll be, I don't know, but you can sure as shit count me there.
