My thoughts on Veganism and vegitarianism?
I don't think they're needed...at all.
My only reason is that vegans and vegitarians are willing to save animals or keep themselves fit, but what they are really doing is malnourishing themselves. They need the right foods to nurture and keep themselves healthy.
They are pretty much using physical masochism by not eating the staple food groups.

Yes, but meat is the main source of protein and you need that in your body.

However, what about Vegans?
They don't eat anything? Or what?
I don't really know about Vegans but I know Vegitarians don't eat meat.

Vegitarians don't eat red meat, some don't eat poultry either. Most still eat fish, but some don't.

Vegans don't eat anything that uses animal's at all. No milk, Cheese or bread products. They can still get protein too.

Then just forget what I said because I can't balance a strong debate.

I've been a vegetarian basically all my life. I'm 16 now. I'm not dead, I'm not malnourished.

I know what to eat to get the protien that I need. There are other ways of getting the nutrients that you need.

For me, being a vegetarian was my choice. I wasn't brought up forced not to eat meat. Ever since i was very little, I just couldn't force myself to swallow meat.

I could say that eating chips, or lollies or chocolate is not needed at all. But it's your choice to eat them, and if you want to, go for it.

For me, being a vegetarian is what I have to do. I just can't make myself eat meat.

Yeah, it really depends. I'm just a vegetarian, but I don't eat any meat at all, or fish, or anything with geletine in it (which basically cuts out all lollies). I don't like cheese, but that's nothing to do with being a vegetarian/vegan. I drink milk like my life depends on it, though.

That's rather stupid. I don't mean to be offensive, but we were born to eat meat. It's human nature. We're omnivores. If we as a species stop eating meat, it would throw the food chain into turmoil.

Yet, I am a vegetarian. Religious reasons. I don't eat meat and I don't eat fish. I don't eat egg directly, as in omlettes or hardboiled eggs or egg-rice or whatever. But I'll eat baked stuff with egg in it, even though I'm not supposed to. And I'm not supposed to eat gelatin, so that crosses out Jello. Which I don't really miss. I never liked Jello.

But yeah. I've been a vegetarian since I was born. And I'm not malnourished at all. I'm overweight, actually.

I'm overweight, but that doesn't have to do with the fact if you're a vegan or vegitarian. That deals with portion and moderation.

But I agree that we are born to eat meat because of where we are on the food chain.

Not entirely. Animals kill things in a natural way by instinct. The way we kill animals can be brutal in inhumane.

I don't mean to be offensive, but thats rather stupid. Did you not read her post or something? She said we kill animals and thats wrong. She never said anything about what we were 'born to eat'. What you said was totally unrelated. The way that we kill animals is murder honestly and the condicitons they are kept in are vile.

And they can also me much less painful Think
I mean, techniques in sluaghterhouses are generally there to kill animals as quickly as possible and with great effect, so at least they may not have a drawn out death as they would in the wilderness.
Then again, it depends on the method, means and animal.

yeah, thats why I said can be brutal. Also, the conditions they are kept in before they are killed can be horrible as well. If murder is the wrongful killing of something, based on things like that I'd say the way some animals die can easily be considered murder.

Inhumane? So animals have more humanity in killing their prey? Bears maul their prey to death, lions eat most their kills alive, Venus Fly Traps digest insects alive too. I understand what you're trying to say, but it's not like animals are saints. It's just that we know what we are intending to do with the carcass and we do it in excess.

Animals do that because they have to, humans have other options. I'd hope we are more civilized than a bear.
