Lol. Everytime I tell someone I'm vegetarian they say the same thing. Saying you can't live without meat is a bit over the top...

So I've decided to start eating more vegan foods so I can work on becoming 100% vegan. Starting out is so hard, though. All that label-reading! I read Vegan Freak almost a year ago, and it recommended to start doing "vegan days" every week. And every week you can start doing more vegan days until you work up to being vegan everyday, so it will be an easier transition.

\o OH OH OH I HAVE A QUESTION!
k
vegetarians are people who do not eat meat, right?
If they don't eat meat, why would they even use animal products either?
Leather, gelatin...
I don't use leather, or use animal fur... I'm going to take the life of an animal simply for something like fashion. It sounds dumb to me.

I'm currently a vegetarian and I don't wear leather or eat anything with gelatin.
I do, however, own a pair of suede shoes. Stupid Vans. My mom bought them for me before I decided to become a vegetarian. I don't wear them. I should donate them or something. But yeah, if anything like shoes or a purse or a CAR has leather on it or in it, I won't buy it.
i think most vegetarians (at least the ones that i know) don't eat gelatin or wear leather. I think the main difference is in using or not using dairy products, or eating honey and stuff like that

I don't buy any leather products but I do have some leather products. It makes me feel guilty but at the same time I'm not going to throw them out cause that would be worse.
With gelatin it's sometimes hard to keep track... Mainly with desserts and stuff.
I still wear wool though because that doesn't harm sheep. Sheep actually need to be shawn.

I think it's a big relief for them though, to get this mound of fur off you.

Do wild sheep die without being shawn? No.
I'm talking about domesticated sheep. If they don't get shawn their fur gets too heavy for them.

there was this sheep named shrek that kept running away so it couldn't get shawn... so it was growing its fur for 7 years
it was a big puffball
and then they finally got him and they showed him being shawn on tv and they gave the wool to some cancer charity, I guess to make wool hats.
ANYWAYS BACK ON TOPIC....

what are they doing with all their money anyway? does anyone know that?
It's been documented that PETA fund the ALF. So they are partly responsible for some forms of terrorism, then. Also, in 2006, apparently some documents were released which indicated that PETA had bought large freezers, like those walk in ones usually used in meat packing plants and stuff. I have no clue what those are actually for. Maybe they like buy all the met from the grocers in an attempt to demonstrate their cause, but then keep the meat because they actually eat it in secret. No clue.

I don't think it is at all. I honestly believe I couldn't live without meat. Whenever I visit India, I go mental. I just cannot fathom how to live without meat or meat products, I couldn't do it.
Honestly, I'd eat my dog food if I have to get meat.
Cause you know, realistically speaking, it's not possible to see someone live completely off of meat even if you monitor their diet, like there are still animals out there. When survival instincts kick in, people can go hunting for meat. If we obliterate animals from the planet, I don't think it's really possible that people could live on a diet like that. I mean, seriously, I do think cannibalism would ensue.
I thought you couldn't live without meat anyway? I mean, I know some people do, obviously.. But don't vegetarians need to take iron supplements to make up for what they would normally get from meat?
