I hear bass is easy if you know how to play guitar you can play bass. The thing is Dad says I have no potential for guitar which makes me want to play an instrument more to show him up. So can you guys give me your opinions on what you think I should do? It would be much appreciated.
Why would you have no potential for guitar? Anyway, that's what I play, so I'll tell you to learn that, and if you don't like it...at least it'll be easier to do bass? |

My dad can be an ass sometimes, but I love him nonetheless. Thanks for the feedback but I think I'll learn bass because my mom guranteed me a bass for my birthday. Also, I think my cousin is going to learn guitar so we can just teach each other. |

i dont play drums or anything, but i have this class in school called music and midi tech., and we need to take a song by our favorite artist (blah blah blah) and redo do it and shit midi style or whatever...and i can't figure out the drum tab i found..

for me, i started out with guitar..soo...that helped a lot with the frets and shit..other than that i dunno....tabs just help..thats what i did/do ... and then after a while i guess you just start thinkingup your own stuff and all that |

right, that first one is a G because the 3rd fret on the bottom E is a G, and the 5's on A and D make a power chord. the notes on the other strings just give the chords more depth.
and the second one is a basic tab. 0 is open string. so you play open E, then first fret E (which is F), 2nd fret E (F#), 3rd fret E (G), 4th fret E (G#), 5th fret E (A), 6th fret E (A#), 7th fret E (B), 8th fret E (C).
