I feel as if he could of donated more, No offence or anything.
I know he's just getting out of rehab.
But, I do honestly think he could of done a little bit more.
He is encouraging other rappers to help out aswell. |

But I'm sick of people blamning Bush for it. He's not God. He can't control natural disasters (But that Alzarqaui guy thinks he can  )
The government is doing all that they can do. Bush is even going to APOLOGIZE TONIGHT AT 9:00 PM! Okay? So let's quit blaming Bush for every little thing that goes wrong.
Sure, he's fucked up a lot and I do wish he was not relected, but Bush seems to be the target for everything and I'm sick of it. |

 | August 28th, 2006 at 04:04pm Exactly one year ago today Hurricane Katrina was brewing in the Gulf Coast below Mississippi, Louisiana, and Alabama. I went to Wal-Mart the night before with some friends. We didn't realize just how serious Katrina was getting. There was no water, bread, or beer.
Tomorrow, on the 29th, Katrina hit the coast of Mississippi! Louisiana just got the side bands, but Mississippi got the cherry. Since we were further north, we still had classes until 12 and after that we were advised to either go back to the dorms and stay there or go home. Many of us opted to stay in the new, sturdy dorms and we rode the storm out.
I couldn't tell you what time it hit, but I will never forget that night. Boys and girls crowded into three or four dorms, playing cards by candlelight since the lights had gone out hours ago. Katrina was still a Category one when it hit us so the winds were still strong and the rain was outrageous. I remember going outside just to see what it would feel like and it was like being in a vile vortex. Trees were falling everywhere and the roads were rivers.
The next morning, you woke up to the sun shining and everything calm, broken, and wet. We didn't have electricity for another week and many schools were shut down for at least a week.
I went to the coast right after the storm for relief work and it was devestating. True, New Orleans was damaged, but all they got was water. There was nothing left of Gulfport or Biloxi or Waveland and many, many, many points between. However, the people there are so resiliant. They never sat around and said 'poor me,' they got out and started rebuilding their house and their neighbor's houses.
One year later and there is still a lot to do and a long, long way to go. Don't forget about them and keep praying for them. |

I know that is for a fact because my grandmother was on that project when they were first built and she said that she had said it then. You can't move New Orleans because of the culture and history there. You can only enforce the damns of Lake Ponchitran and other waterways. Protect what you have, that's what you have to do. It's not really Nagin's call to move the city, but it is his call to make the damns stronger. |

It's just not as simple as that. And besides the people may not want to move. Like there's this guy my dad knows, I'd say he's in his 50s, he lives in this little cottage by a lake. It looks beautiful in the summer but as soon as the rain comes the lake floods and his home is ruined and he has to live with his brother's family till his cottage drys and then he moves back. Now people are always wondering why doesn't he just move into the village and rent his cottage out as a holiday home for tourists in the summer but he refuses to; because its his home. |
