Ok, I made a journal about this, and someone told me that it should go in here to ge a wider range of opinions.
Dont yell at me for pointing out Green Day did something that could make them human and not perfect, and as wait_what said, it isnt just Green Day, lots of people are involved in the movie, and the Manson family cult has a habbiat of targeting celebrities, lets hope this movie doesnt upset them.
for those of you who dont know, Live Freaky, Die Freaky is based on a book called Helter Skelter, which is about the brutal Charles Manson Murders, you can read more about them here: Manson-Tate Murders I would tell you about them here, but its a long ass story.
Anyways, he murdered, well, Brutally Murdered at least 35 people, some of them he refused to give names on, there is people who have been missing for years and their families suffering not knowing that he was te one who murdered them.
Sharon Tate was one of the more vicious murders. Not only was she murderd but 3 of her friends were as well, they were butchered and she was 8 months pregnant, due in 2 weeks. pregnant, can you imagine her husband coming home to that, not only was his wife gone, but his unborn child too.Susan Atkins later testified that she had replied "Look bitch, I have no mercy for you. You're going to die and you'd better get used to it", before stabbing her to death. Before leaving the house Atkins used a towel to soak up some of Sharon Tate's blood and then used it to write "PIG" on the front door. Leno LaBianca and his wife Rosemary were also brutally murdered without cause, along with many others. Even after Charles Manson was put in jail members of his cult reformed and went on to commit more murders
Now, can you imagine how family members of these murders must feel about a movie mocking what happened to those unfortunete people? I dont care how you word it, a joke, having fun, just for laughs, its mocking murders. Charles Manson is portryed as a god and savior in the movie. Doris Tate, her mother, did everything in her power to keep Charles Manson in jail, she is now dead, but Sharon Tates Husband, Roman Polanski is very much alive. Charles manson is up for paroll in 2007. Yes, thats wonderful, wait until he gets out(if by some miracle he does, hes done it before) and sees everything he believed in being mocked, he may be crazy, but he isnt stupid. When word gets to him that everything he believes in is being mocked, well, it wont be plesant, you can see how he deals with people he dpesnt like, and he has no problem going after celebrities, thats who he targets.
So, you draw your own conclusions about this, I made mine. If you have any questions about Charles manson or the sick murders feel free to ask me or pm me, I did alot of research on this, that stated above is just a little bit.
Ok, lets try to keep this nice and respect other peoples opinions, even a giant Green Day freak can disagree with something they do.

Who knows, the cult targeted celebrities, that is very extreme, but I pointed it out because it is a possibility. Mocking a mass murder and serial killer was not the smartest thing to do in my opinion

Yeah...Billie's the voice of Charles Manson, I think. And Tre's the voice of some maid...
Mike is in it too. They agreed to make a movie mocking those murders, which I find sick. If they were that interested in it a documentary paying tribute wouldnt have been bad, but an x-rated puppet movie is awful.
Murdering Billie Joe wouldnt be an acceptable way to confront him for mocking him, people can mock that sick little man all they want at their own risk, I couldnt care less about him or the Manson family. He had a tramatic childhood, lots of people dom they dont resort to killing people. he bounced between foster home to foster home, dealing with abusive daily, maybe if the government had kept better track of the poor kid he once was and tried to help him have a stable home he wouldnt have turned out the way he did, but its too late.
I feel sympathy for the families of vitims, not Charles Manson, imagine how hard it was to lose their family members and now its a giant joke to John Roecker and the rest of the cast.

That's so sick... 35 people died and they find it acceptable to make a joke out of it? Who the fuck thought that was a good idea? I can only imagine how awful this must be for the victims familys. I can only hope at leat some of the victims family don't know about this movie. It will be easier for them not to know...

i agree that it wasn't a smart choice for green day to be part of the movie that mocks a mass murderer, but if manson gets out and wants to kill, there's like 50 other artists he can kill other than green day. if he wants to kill, they'll all be gone

Whoa...you just made me do some real deep thinking there...
this is kinda scary and all... i never knew exactly what the movie was about... at first i thought, 'Hey cool, Green Day's in a movie!' but now that i know what the movie's about, well, i dont even think its funny making fun of all those deaths!!!!
and second, if Manson gets out, it'd be stupid for him to kill those celebreties, even if it was wrong of them to make a movie off of what happened ... and it would be hard for him to get to the celebrities anyways...
