My mom has made me go to church resently, and I hate it. I have told her many times that I know God doesn't exsist. Plus it's a Mormon church.

These are the reasons why God can't be real.
1. Read the Bible. It said that Adam and Eve lived for like 1200 years. Please explain that.
2. Christians believe that if you don't believe in God you'll burn in hell. But how do they know there right? What if the Jews were right? What if the Buddist were right? Then what?
3. Now with Jesus being the orginal hippie, like love your brother and all, how could he turn away a Jew who spent there life humbley, modestly, right, just because they didn't believe in one certain thing? Seems kinda close minded, hmm?

.... but to me most of hte bible is just plain ridiculous , seriously

have you read all of it?

i have!

do you think its bull shit?

I've read it too, and to be honest it was like reading a very long fantasy book, I just couldn't take it seriously.

I was young when I read it, so I don't remember much. Plus it was a child's version, so it was more like a fictional tale.

I don't buy in because I think it is rediculous. It's an explanation of the world that I don't like, that's all.

That's exactly what I don't get.

This whole "burning in hell if you don't believe what I believe" pisses me off the most. I absolutely hate how someone can fall so deep in to something that they make you feel bad enough to better yourself just to get a one way ticket in to "heaven". Uggh! Wall

Thinking back, I remember going to the state fair last year and walking past a booth with some guy standing next to a box on a table.

"Look in the box," is what he tells my mom and I. So, we do, and there's a skull inside. His fucking comment was "Jesus loved you!" and hand me a fucking mini bible. I mean, what the hell? Would Jesus really want you to scare the shit out of little children with this? Would he want his fallowers to join his group just out of fright? That's pretty fucking sick, if you ask me.

I think that lots of people need religion and sometimes I really miss the way I used to feel when I went to church, before I realize the church of love was really a church of hate.

I mean, I wore my rainbow pin to Youth Group and I was told in no uncertain terms what a boy there would do if he ever met a "faggot".

I just figure that if God hates gays, kills people just because he doesn't like them, and forgives people that fuck up others' live forever ... what kind of a god is that?

And I just want to bring up something that I put in a theological discussion in one of my stories ...

Why is Satan painted as completely evil? He didn't eat the God damn apple.

Because Satan made Eve eat the Apple...He made her do it. Lucifer rebelled and got himself thrown out of heaven, he was the most beautiful of angels.

There are two views to God: a good God and an Evil God. There is pretty much a strong discussion for both, and I don't know what Bible you've been reading but God neither hates gays, kills people, but the one thing he does do is forgive.* You seem to think that God is wrong for forgiving people, but I take it you'd be one of the first to complain if he was an unforgiving being.

*From a Christian P.o.v

He made her do it. It's like me telling someone to kill the president. It's bad advice. But unless I held a gun to his/her head I didn't force them. Satan didn't do that.

I dont believe because it just doesnt all fit together for me, and it doesnt make any sense.

If God was all loving, why do people suffer? If God was all knowing, why doesnt he know people are suffering? If God was all powerfull, why doesnt he stop the suffering?

Either way, God turns out to be a pretty mean guy in all of this. If he has a plan for everyone, then surely he must be able to figure out a different plan where no one gets hurt.

I believe that if there was a God then he has left our world. I dont believe there is a God present in our time, i dont even believe in a God, but if there was one at some point, i feel he's left to let us all destroy the world ourselfs.

Something I wish is...I wish that those who want to slate Christianity would god forbid, actually learn about it first.

1) Adam and Eve was a made up story. It doesn't mean God can't exist. Ooh, humpty dumpy didn't get put together again. Please Explain that?. God can't exist because humpty dumpty died, right?. What I'm trying to say is that point 1 is irrevelant.

2) Christians don't all believe this. This is untrue. Please provide an actual Bible reference or statement to back up this claim.

3) Jesus was born a Jew. When did Jesus ever turn away this random Jew?. I don't recall that Bible passage...You should also take note that Jesus was very tolerant of Jews and never, ever tried to convert them to Christianity.

Well, Christians have tried to convert Jews throughout history, but never on a large scale likie I think you mean. However, I think the Dude was trying to say that according to the Church, Jews will be burning because they do not accept Jesus as the Savior.

This has never really made sense to me, because it's the same God and the same commandments, et cetera. The Big Three worship the same god! Yet they're constantly at war. So weird.

Jesus was a Jew. So Jewdaism should be accepted in Christian society, yeah? But some argue that the Jews killed Jesus.

Of course they did. But I don't blame the Jews, I blame Ignorance and fear. He could have died at the hands of any religion, the society at the time just happened to be full of Jews. So we shouldn't blame them.

Exactly. The people in power in Jewish society at the time got scared about how popular he was getting.

Call me closed minded, but I won't believe in God's existence until I see him for myself.

I agree. I don't follow Christianity, but at least I am knowledgable about it, more so than many people at my school, who actually do believe in God.

I'm not saying I don't believe in him. I'm undecided on that. I just don't agree with the modern day church, and many of their teachings, and much of their hypocrisy. (I hope that is the word. I'm having a really big mental blank right now)

Neither am I (a Christian, I mean), but obviously I don't have a problem with people slating it. But for heaven's sake, know what you're talking about!.

The weirdest thing is, nobody picks up on the real issues. Everybody is all "oMgZ Jesus smoked opium1111!!" or "Adam and Eve aren't real", and therefore Christianity is false. I'm struggling even to think of the last person who presented a sensible argument against Christianity, but I can't even remeber. And it's not like there isn't loopholes to exploit, believe me Think

Sensible argument against Christianity?

A lot of my arguments come from the Old Testament...but I have yet to find a Christian who will debate the Old Testament with me.

Well you can put your argument to me, I'll debate it with you. But you don't have to bother. I'll assume your argument is good and none of this "Jesus did this so Christianity is a lie" or "The bible says owls and ravens will take over the world (Which it actually does, I believe Laughing ) so Christianity can't be true" crap.

I think my entrie argument pro-Christianity hangs on the balance that as long as you are doing good and living to whatever moral code you see fit, I don't really mind what religion you follow. I'd rather you were a Christian than be part of a muderous devil-worshipping (no, i'm not talking about sanatists) cult.

Yeah, I know. But, most people I've come across who are trying to prove that he isn't real have been on Vampire Freaks, and were trying desperatly into the "goth" image, whatever that would be.

(Well, this is from past experiences. I haven't been on there for over a year, so I wouldn't know what its like on that site anymore.)

And they only pick out things that are silly. I mean, if they were actually taught anything about Christianity, they would know that it was a story. Not a true factual recount of events. A story to explain something.

I know that there are actual loops holes. Another thing that I pick up on is the idea that the good people will be sad, and the sad people will be happy (or sometimes, stay sad). I don't get this, so could anyone explain what they mean?
