Yep. God is supposed to live in heaven but if you've traveled by a plane, you've been above the clouds and ZOMG there's no God on the clouds.
That's because "Heaven" is a different realm, an afterlife.
We think of it as sky or clouds because that's the best way to wrap our minds around it.

I don't believe in God, or any religion...but I don't mind people who do. It's up to you. Some people believe in him because they're scared that if they don't they have nothing to look forward to after death. Does that make sense?
Erm. I just don't believe in him. If he is our creator, who created him, and who created the creator's creator? Getting complicated?

I think the exact same thing.

So then how do you explain everything being created?

currently the theory is known as "the big bang." pretty sure you've heard of it, it's standard high school science class fare.

i believe in the power of science. it has mad power to solve mankind's problems. if only we had more scientists bent on making more peaceful, benign things. but that's another story for another day.

JESSY NIGHTMARE:
If this is a double. Lock it. If it's in the wrong section. Move it.

Okay My question is 'Why Don't You Believe In God?'

My reason is for asking is. I don't. But my friend drags me to church or youth group every so often. Everyone there thinks I do believe in God. Tonight she dragged me there for the first time in 5 months. The youth pastor was talking about future youth nights and what we would discuss. One topic caught my attention. We're gonna talk about doubts & creationism vs. evolution. They're gonna give us a piece of paper and we can ask whatever and they should be able to come up with an answer supporting Christianity. But I wanna give them a question that they can't answer. So that's where I want yall to help me. I only have a few questions I can think of. And anymore would be helpful so yeah, Type away.

My Questions/Statements.
1.]How can you trust the bible if it's written by man who are sinners?
2.] Christians are told they have free will. 'Do what I say or die and burn in hell.' That doesn't sound like free will to me.
3.] If Christians are supposed to love eachother as thy selves or whatever. How come they always discriminate other religions and homosexuals? That's not very loving.

That's all I can think of.

1.] The Bible is the word of God. people who you say "wrote it" are just the ones who recorded all of what has happened for the rest of the world and future generations. it's just recorded history. if you don't trust the Bible, fine, don't.
2.]all people are given free will, but there is responsibility that comes along with it. you're basically given that freedom so you can do good with it. when people make free will an excuse do do bad things, they're kinda abusing that power. if you confess your sins, then you're forgiven.
3.]the Church itself doesn't discriminate against other religions. give me one good example of the Church discriminating against people of other religions. sure there might be individuals who do it, but that's just wrong.
-they don't discriminate against homosexuals. what they don't like is when people have homosexual relationships or have homosexual marriages. Christians think there's nothing wrong with being homosexual. those people can't help it if they are that way, you know? just doing that stuff. same with what i said before, the Church doesn't discriminate.

*People who ask "how can there be a God if so many bad things can happen in the world?" should know that God isn't the one who does all the bad things. He lets it happen because people have free will, so it's not His fault.
*People who say "how can there be a God? there's no proof He exists." Well, there's no proof He doesn't exist, either.
*How would you even know what you're saying is true? people who aren't religious obviously don't know religion or the Bible so i presonally believe they shouldn't be bashing either one.
*I'm not trying to shove my beliefs down anyone's throat or trying to make you believe in God.
*I am Catholic and i take offence at what a lot of the people on this topic have said.

I believe in some things and others i don't.

Why argue over which religion is better, or if there is actually a god? Were gonna find out when we die anyway. I think we should be enjoying life, not arguing over who made it.

Thats why I find religious topics to be so extremely pointless. Either side can't be proven, and when it comes to subjects like this, both sides are narrow minded and someone leaves with their feelings hurt.

Dno Just doesnt seem like anything is accomplished to me.

both sides try to get the other side to see their side (if that makes any sense

but Christians won't look and see that their own self-ritiousness leads to them acting like assholes, and the anti-Christians won't see that their points are pointless and they're just being assholes

all-in-all the most outspoken on this issue are assholes

well its for debate but no one is giving into either side. so would this whole forum be pointless seeing as no one wants to surrender his or her beliefs?

Well I may as well give my opinion.

I dont believe in God, apparently faith is something you feel and know. Well I dont, and never have. I was raised a Catholic, but no amounts of being dragged to church has changed my mind.

Science over the years has also made it even harder. It was easy all those years ago when everyone could explain things by religion, because they didn't know any different.
Now almost everything can be explained scientifically (sp) there's no need for God.

As for religions, I believe they are one of the greatest evils on this Earth. I've always been shunned by the 'powers that be' of the religious world, because i'm (apparently) outspoken, and for more personal reasons, my sexuality.
That doesn't sound like the loving God and his followers to me.

No offence is meant by any of this, its just my opinion

My parents are both Christian and I have only been to church a few times. I prayed every once in a while also. Then over time I started thinking and I found out that I really don't think there is any god on ANY higher power. I think that because you don't have any evidence of a god, there are always horid things going on in the world, and the Bible was written by sinning humans. Meh, thats how a am...

i don't believe in God. i don't have a religion. i guess it's because i don't see how it could have really happened scientifically (sp?). i also don't believe because i sorta gave up on it because according to the ten commandments i have sinned alot and i don't want to feel guilty. and i'm sooooooooooooo tired of being bashed for not believing!!!!!!!!!!!!
