Why Don't You Believe?

I'm not gonna diss anyone here, or their religion. But i used to be highly religious. Now I dont believe in any of the shit in the bible. To me its all lies. With the shit that has anbd is happening in my life as of now and in the past, he has never helped me. He this guy we call god. I prayed every moment of every day when I believed in him. I never questioned him and i was a good little "christian/catholic".

But he never "answered" my prayers. I lost hope in all the bullshit I was fed as a child through religion. But I respect people who can keep faith in something that can Never be proven. I just dont beloieve in something so assinine and made up, but if you can, thats cool.

Sorry If I accidently affend any religious folks, but I have my damn opinions too.

Okay My question is 'Why Don't You Believe In God?'

My reason is for asking is. I don't. But my friend drags me to church or youth group every so often. Everyone there thinks I do believe in God. Tonight she dragged me there for the first time in 5 months. The youth pastor was talking about future youth nights and what we would discuss. One topic caught my attention. We're gonna talk about doubts & creationism vs. evolution. They're gonna give us a piece of paper and we can ask whatever and they should be able to come up with an answer supporting Christianity. But I wanna give them a question that they can't answer. So that's where I want yall to help me. I only have a few questions I can think of. And anymore would be helpful so yeah, Type away.

My Questions/Statements.
1.] How can you trust the bible if it's written by man who are sinners?
2.] Christians are told they have free will. 'Do what I say or die and burn in hell.' That doesn't sound like free will to me.
3.] If Christians are supposed to love eachother as thy selves or whatever. How come they always discriminate other religions and homosexuals? That's not very loving.

That's all I can think of.

1.] The people who wrote the Bible were diciples of Jesus Christ. He was once a man on Earth. He spoke through other people who then wrote the Bible. I actually have a first-hand encounter of being spoken through. It's nothing scary, and you're not unconcious or anything. It's amazing. It's the coolest thing ever.
2.] You're getting the wrong picture here. If you don't accept Christ into your life, you'll become a victim of Satan. Satan is a fallen angel of God, and chose to rebel agianst God, and that's where Hell comes along. You have to ask forgivness for your sins and you're on your way to Heaven when you pass away.
3.]Christians don't descriminate agianst anyone else. I, personally have no problem with homosexual people, but the Bible does clearly state that man was made for woman and woman was made for man. It is considered a sin but your sins are forgiven when you ask for Jesus's death on the cross to count for your sins. And we don't desciminate other religions. We know that what they believe is not the truth, therefore we want to share with them the good news Jesus has for us, and that is that we can go to Heaven and be with Him for all of eternity.

First of all I do believe in God. All the things that were mentioned here were told to people by the curch (I am talking about the Catholic church now), not by God. Nobody can tell if God really said that. I dont like going to church because I believe that what they tell us is a bunch of crap. I do believe in God and in his existance and I pray.

1. I never had and never will read the bible. I cant trust it not because it was written by sinners, but just because nobody can tell me its true.
2. Church has set some rules and people think that what the church tells them to, that God wants the same thing. That isnt true, I dont believe in that. I dont think God told us not to read Harry Potter or The Da Vinci Code or not to listen to heavy metal bands because they all worship Satan. There are a lot of examples what would a "good" or a "bad" Christian do, but it was all set by someone else, not by God.
3.Again, those stuff were set by the Church for us to follow. Church is all contradictory to whatever they say.

For me God exist, but I have my own special picture of him and a lot of people said that Im an atheist. I even think my religion education teacher thinks so. But its just their opinion and if so, then be it. I dont have to go to church every sunday, pray five times a day and confess my sins in church to prove my faith. I dont hate people who dont believe in God, I feel a bigger distance towards people who are manical believers and who seem to think that others who dont agree with them should go to hell or whatever.

well, i can't really say that i belive or don't belive, because i really don't know that much about the religions to say my opinion. My paretns are not religious, and they want me to choose my religion. My mother comes from a muslim family, but is not at all religious. she belives in god and heaven, and thats good enough for her. My father was raised in a babtist christian family and he is not religious. he belives in nature, and humans. he belives that "god" is nature, and everything surrounding it. but he dosn't belive in the god that religions have made "it" to be. I am in a way atheist, beacue i don't belive in nay of it. I need to know what it really is about. but there is a lot of the religions i find contradicing and wrong in my eyes. But i do wish i had a faith. it helps people to have something to belive in. I belive that threre is some mystical power amongst us though. like karma.. i really belive carma.
