Make you Smile.:
I think some people just want to give their responsibility to something else, or wanna someone to blame to, for the thing that happen to them..

And I don't like how the church and stuff tells you not to question god..

they dont say dont question god (well not in the mormon church anyway) they say question him and seek answers which is waht most latter day saints do

In my opinion, that's a lousy thing to teach kids. "Just accept it!" That means don't complain.

Right.

That sure doesn't lead to hypocrisy. Oh no.

Exactly. I was told, just do what God says, what the church says, what the Bible says and don't question it. I just cant do it that way so I had a lot of problems in my religion class.

And I say: Don't be a good Christian man, don't be a good Jewish man, don't be a good Mislim man, don't be a good Hindu man, don't be a good Buddhist man, don't be a good Shinto man...

...just be a good man.

I want to use that in a song but I don't know how.

i don't belive in god, jesus, heaven, hell, ghosts, angels, afterlife, devils, good luck, bad luck and all that. Why belive in god when scientists have proof of evoloution. no one has proved that he's real and you can't say that the bible is proof because ANYONE could have writtern the bible...

put it like this, according to church people, some magic man who lives up in the clouds used his superpowers to create a big round ball and made millions of things that talk, move, eat, breath and die for no particular reason.

i'll tell you this without confusing you...

beliver: How can you prove that he's not real?

person: uhm... the fact that you can't prove he IS real.

beliver: thats not proof though...

person: give me proof that god is real.

Anyone did write the Bible. But, the Koran, is a direct script sent down to Earth from Heaven from God himself, delivered to the prophet Muhammed. I am not very religious, I am no Muslim, Buddist, Christian, or Jew, but the universe doesn't sprout from nothing. I like the idea of anarchy and occasionally consider it, but I don't think a series of random events created the solar system and galaxies and, most controvertially Earth.

There's actually a quote about that.

"The universe is made of stories, not atoms." Muriel Rukeyser, poet. God gives people hope. God is simply hope with many many many different names. I believe. And he may even be based on a real person. Take this into account for instance, God was believed to have a garden of Eden, correct? The Hindi word for gardener is Baghban. The word for God is Bhagvan.

People believe because they want to. Becuase not everyone is strong enough to rely on facts alone. I'm not. Because I want to believe that someone will send some sort of guidance or surge of mettle when I need it.

And not every religion preaches that evolution didn't happen. Hinduism actually teaches evolution. Thousands of years before Darwin. Chew on that.

Scientists have not "disproved God"
That is the biggest steaming pile of bullshit I've ever heard.
Nobody has proved God doesn't exist yet.

Oh, and how do you think evolution happened? Magic? Mr. Green
It didn't just start by itself, you know. In fact, nobody knows what started it. Could have been the Big Bang, could have been God, nobody actually knows.

I don't think religion offers hope, I think they falsely advertise it. " Do this, and you get eternal happiness in the prescene of God" However, advertising isn't enough, they need to enforce it. "If you don't do this, you'll suffer eternally". Fear is control, based on the number of people following a religion, I'd say they have quite a bit of control.

Actually magic has a big part in religion. See, before religion was 'invented', if you're not the believing type, magic was used to explain the events of the world. Of course, from this erupted chaos in theories and ideas so along came religion and a belief in high God/gods. Then, recently science has been used to explain the unknown. Who knows what we'll use next?

O_O...that may be the case for other religions, but not the one I follow. Most Hindu rituals are just for health and peace of mind. They work, too. No pujari has ever told me I'd be damned if I didn't drink eat his stupid raisins.

So, as Einstein said, "I do not believe in the God of theology who rewards good and punishes evil". I agree with this quote, because I don't believe in the 'God' as texts such as the Bible portray. So in the traditional sense, I'm Atheist, because I techinically do not believe in God.

But I do believe in something. I believe in evolution, yes, but something higher than us began everything. Something started the universe, and I don't think it was as chaotic as a big bang.

I look at that, and wonder, how can that have been made by accident?
Something sure made it, it was designed like that.

I also don't believe 'God' is a conscious entity; that is, it does not punish people or give people gifts, and he does not rule over the universe. He simply is ; eternal and endless and unexplained. I'm saying 'he' out of habit, because I don't think the God I believe in has a gender.

Sigh. Its very complicated and doesn't make sense, I know.

I don't think religion has been invented, I think it exists within ourselves. I believe it is part of our nature, in a small amount.
People have worshipped the Sun, the Moon, God... All manner of different idols. People always need something to believe in. Even science is a religion of sorts. Science can only explain a small amount of the great mystery that is faith.

I think its part of humanity to believe in something that can't be explained. Whatever that something is, depends entirely on the person.

No, it makes sense. maybe because it is sort of what I believe. i don't believe in the bible's depiction of how Earth was created, and how everything around us came to be. The whole 'And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so.' bit doesn't really work for me, because I don't think of God as something that has a gender and is a conscious being that can speak etc. As so often portrayed in movies.
But what you say about there being a higher form of something makes sense. i don't believe in the clear cut mold of what God is, but I don't think that everything just happened with no basis or reasoning.

It makes complete sense, you cleared it all out for me, thank you. I agree with everything you said, I was just totally confused with what I am, regarding religion.

except you can prove he didn't exist because no one proved he existed in the first place.
Evoloution can happen by itself, it's like saying, "An animal can't die unless you kill it." which isn't true.

And i know you said [sarcasticly] 'How did evoloution happen? magic?' That also goes for god, i mean, where the hell did he come from? was he created by magic?
