Bratfink:People always say its American Idiot, but I dunno, that song wasn't ever THAT huge over in Australia. Well it wasn't to my recollection...o_O
It wasn't THAT popular in America until BOBD came out.
And thank you to those people who hailed/concured with me (see page 4)

Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)
was the biggest Green Day song, but selling wise its more likely Boulevard of Broken Dreams.
So those two.
And Basket Case back then was pretty big but no where near as big as those two songs.

Hmmm.... i think maybe Good Riddance cos you can walk up to just about anyone of any age and they know it. You have to call it Time Of Your Life though or else they probably would be like "Huh?" so yes i think Good Riddance

Panagiotakos.<3:Does this thread mean
popular in a good way or bad way?
Because if you think of it, some people think it's more of a bad sense because
"lyk zzZomg!11 they brut teh teeEnIesS!121shiftyeleventy-twelve!!1ONE."
Well screw all the people who accuse the newer Green Day fans who like their recent stuff. God forbid they like one song.
But it's also good because look at Billie, Mike and Tré. They have come so far in the decade, making sure that each one of their songs were appropriate for each year and triggering a variety of emotions. Green Day have done so well and in my opinion, the most popular song would be every song they have ever written, composed and played at all their concerts.
<3
Mmhm.

But you see, that's the thing. There are a lot of people who don't know the true meaning and that's ok. You can apply the lyrics to anything happy, sad, or something that pisses you off. That's why Good Riddance is such a great song.
