I personally think that green day didn't rip them off, how many times have oasis used some chords that another band have used?
Im not moaning cos i think all this arguing is stupid, we all have our own opinions and we're not gonna change them by someone getting angry and having a go at each other. i think bands should leave each other alone as well unless they've done something personal to each other - which green day and oasis haven't. I really honestly think people should just stick with thier opinions and live and let live.

I grew up without the internet all together. And I listened to other bands.
But still, I never 'grew' out of Green Day.
If you do, you can never be a true fan of any band, but that's my opinion.
But I have grew up with Green Day, 12 years of them in fact.
And Oasis can never compare to Green Day.
It's just a personal fact for me, I don't really care if you think Oasis is better.
'Cause I have seen Oasis grow, and to tell the truth they are the ones who haven't evolved as a band, or with their music. |

Well said, and I agree. I have only ever heard one Oasis song, but many Green Day songs, and Green Day does have some pretty intense music, but I could never say that any band is the greatest in the world, only the greatest in MY world. |

The songs have the same progression. I played them both on guitar the other day, they're the same. It could be a coincidence, or maybe he did it on purpose - I really don't know, and neither do you, as far as I know. |
