Green Day: Rock Band

Green Day: Rock Band is coming out on June 8th on the Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and Wii consoles.
There will be 2 versions avaliable;
The Standard Edition will include only the songs which are on the disc.
The Special Edition will also include the Tracks which are currently avaliable on the Xbox Live Marketplace, as well as featuring some 'special packaging'.

Current pricing is:
Wii - $49.99
X360 & PS3 - $59.99
(I don't have UK/Europe prices, but needless to say they'll be standard 'new game' prices.)

It's been confirmed that there will NOT be any Green Day specific hardware released.

The tracks will also be fully exportable on the X360 and PS3, but not on the Wii, so you can play the tracks with previous versions of Rock Band.

Brain Stew/Jaded
Hitchin' A Ride
American Idiot
Boulevard of Broken Dreams
Wake me up when september ends

I will also be leaking out 3 of the tracks which are currently being tested each week as well... since I'm nice like that.

(I also mentioned in a blah sometime last week that there will be no tracks from 1,039 Smoothed Out Slappy Hours or Kerplunk... as far as I've been told anyway)

Should've stuck a couple of songs off 1039SOSH on there. The solos would've worked proper good. Something like At the Library, Going to Pasalacqua or 409 In Your Coffeemaker would've been delish.

I can't see any of my friends getting this though, even the guy who used to hate the Beatles yet still bought their version of Rock Band would never lower himself to Green Day level.

So I doubt I'll ever play it.

You know if the DLC tracks are available in the wii version? Cos i heard they werent and i dont have a Xbox or ps3

What I read only said the special edition will have the DLC tracks, idk if thats solely for the 360 tho. I would guess the DLC tracks would be on the versions for all consoles tho.

I'd guess that the company making GD:RB have decided that it's too much of a dying market to bother making a version for the PS2.
Sales for the PS3 are starting to close the gap on the X360 so I wouldn't be surprised to see the last PS2 game to be released later this year or early next year.
This is just imo tho, I'm having troube finding news about how much longer PS2 games will be made for.

What are "DLC Tracks"? Are they tracks that are like... I don't even know. But they better be on the Wii version, cuz playing EJN on RB is my dream

DLC = Downloadable Content
They are tracks that you can download from the Xbox Live Marketplace for 440 microsoft points, for each track pack, which contains 3 songs.
(100 Microsoft points = ~83p)

If anyone is wondering, the packaging is the same for all 3 consoles.

Also I just read that there will be 47 tracks on the game, which means my 'insider' either hasn't seen or just forgot about a third of the songs >_<

I'm going to have to bother them some more until they remember.

Remember there'll probably be a tonne of songs by The Clash, Operation Ivy, Buzzcocks, The Who etc. too.

PS2 is effectively defunct seeing as the 7th Generation consoles all came out like 5 years ago and now cost about the same as a PS2 used to.
