They've said that it is compatible with all Rock Band Instruments and most guitar Hero/3rd party Instruments tho, if you have some already. Otherwise you'll need to buy some seperately as well.

I got the instruments about a couple years ago, so I can use those with the game, but I am SO pissed that you have to download those songs...

They're about £100 - £110. You can pick up band packs which have only 1 guitar, but if you buy it all seperately it costs the same but you can usually get another guitar as well.
Of course I'm sure there's always second hand stuff on Amazon and Ebay, so it's worth looking around.

Those songs were released as track packs long before it was decided to make an entire game. Also I remember reading there will be a special edition which contains the downloadable tracks. I don't think they will be avaliable on the Wii tho... although don't hold me to that as I can't remember exactly.

Downloading them is easy tho, once you're in the game there will be a Rock Band Network, I think it's called. There you can browse all avaliable downloads and you can purchase them. The Xbox360 and PS3 have seperate ways of purchasing these items.

Xbox360 - You buy Microsoft points either with a Credit Card through your xbox or from a store which sells them. Once you have your points added to you account you simple download what you want and the amount of points it has cost will be deducted from your account.

PS3 - I think with the PS3 you just use a credit/debit card to buy items... although i've never done it since I dont' own one, so if someone that knows can fill the blank it'd be appreciated. =)

That's it exactly, the deal only stands for those released on Warner Reprise. (although "Welcome to Paradise" was released on both labels, to stop people being pickity)

I think that Lookout! Records have an agreement with the makers of the Rock Band games. So if you go here you can request 1,039/SOSH and Kerplunk songs... although idk how successful it will be. But it's the best shot you've got at getting them released as DLC later on.

I doubt theyd be releasing any more Green Day dlc anytime soon though, what with the game being released.

"mild blood" is because the game includes pictures from the warning era when they did a crime scene photoshoot.
