Piano is a brilliant instrument!! i love piano but no way am i a classical freak. the only time i listen to classical is when i play it. but piano doesn't just help your sight-reading. it helps u understand chords and notes and the structure of music. which can help u with other instruments. never am i gonna give up piano, i love it too much. i can't go one day without playing my piano.
