Recently, Converse has announced plans for a new international advertisement campaign called "Connectivity." This campaign is to honor the accomplishments of not only the shoe company, but the various athletes, musicians and fashion icons who sported the shoes while impacting their field. Geoff Cottrill, the chief marketing director of Converse said that "The campaign is bold and iconic, saluting those people, past and present, who push the boundaries of creativity, who inspire originality and who embody the values of the brand.” Billie Joe Armstrong is one of the representatives from the music industry. Others in his company include Sid Vicious of the Sex Pistols, Joan Jett, Karen O from the Yeah Yeah Yeah's as well as many others.
