The 2007 Grammy Awards
Green Day lost the award for Best Hard Rock Performance With Vocal to the Red Hot Chili Peppers for Dani California at the 49th Annual Grammy Awards this past Sunday, February 11, 2007. The category seems to have been considered a “low standard”, as it wasn't even aired during the live show. Green Day also didn't show up for attendence at the show, though lucky for them. The entire show consisted of bad timing, surprising winners and odd rememberances.
Hopefully Green Day's next album will be released before the special party of the 50th Annual Grammy Awards, next year.
In other news, the studio that worked on the Saints music video won an award of their own for their contributions towards the video's documentary-like images and videos of the disaster of Hurricaine Katrina in New Orleans:
“For this video, SWAY's talented team integrated many photo-real CG elements, including Harrier jets, Apache helicopters, Stealth Bombers and tanks into existing news footage from Hurricane Katrina, resulting in a thought-provoking and emotional video that illustrates what it might have looked like had the government responded differently to the disaster.”
There is an article about it available at Broadcastnewsroom.com. Also included in the article are some new HQ performance photos.
Next year!? D:

I bet they wouldn't have called it a "low standard" if Green Day had won.

I'm sad that Green Day and U2 didn't win, but I'm glad RHCP won! :)

In retrospect.. it IS nice that Green Day wasn't there. first bc of the bad timing and stuff. second, it gives them no distractions from making the CD's and (in Billie's case) working with Adeline
