Melbourne Telstra Dome, Melbourne, Australia, December 16th, 2005

Yes, I was lucky enough to attend this once in a liftetime concert! I arrived before the gates opened and every directions there were punks. I had never seen so many people outside Telstra dome waiting to go in.

Then I was in the merch place and the line was so big it took me an hour to get there. By the time I was in line about to get in My Chemical Romance were doing their first song. My Chemical Romance were okay, I guess, but Gerard kept calling us "Mother Fuckers". Not cool. I'm not saying, "He swore OH MY GOD!" But he could have gotten a new line or something. But overall, My Chemical Romance were good.

Then on came Jimmy Eat World. The music was good, I admit but they didn't put on a good show. Then came the wait that seemed like hours. It was hard to believe it was only a 15 minute wait between Jimmy Eat World and Green Day.

While we were waiting a crowd wave was started. I noticed the top was faster then the bottom hehe. Then came out the drunk pink bunny. Everyone was cracking up and I was nearly wetting my pants. Then the music came on and the crowd went silent for a split second.

But then on came our ledgendary Green Day and there was a MASSIVE roar! Then opened with American Idiot (like Bullet In A Bible). Our concert was a lot like Bullet In A Bible yet different. Instead of the "Oh, Ohhh, Ohhh's" coming from Billie Joe's mouth and the crowd repeating he shouted "AUSSIE, AUSSIE, AUSSIE!"

And we'd have to go "OI! OI! OI!" The songs that were played were [in no particular order] American Idiot, Jesus Of Suburbia, Holiday, Are We The Waiting, St. Jimmy, Boulevard of Broken Dreams, Wake Me Up When September Ends, plus everyone's old favourites like Knowledge (Operation Ivy cover), Basket Case, Longview, Brain Stew/Jaded.

The best song played though was definitely Minority and Billie Joe's little speech KICKED ASS! I'd never seen a crowd in Australia that loud though! Not even at the grand final. My dad went deaf for 3 days! It got closed with Green Day's biggest and most popular song to date: Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life).

Overall, it was the best concert ever! My dad who had never even heard Green Day before said it was the best ever concert his been to and he's seen great bands like The Rolling Stones and Pink Floyd! As soon as it was over I was sad. But I couldn't wait 'till the next one! It was a great end to the American Idiot tour!
