Austraila, Sydney SuperDome, March 8th, 2005

Oh my God! My two favorite bands of all time in the one concert! Best night of my life? I think so! It was so amazing!

So Simple Plan started things off. They were performing all their singles. Shut up, Welcome To My Life, Addicted. Also a couple of songs of their albums. Pierre and David entertained us all for a while, comparing all the cell phone lights and lighters being waved around to a christmas tree and David admitting his fear of the dark. The boys finished their bit for the night with the song that made them...Perfect. Pierre was playing his acoustic guitar on his own until the rest of the lights went up revealing the others and the boys then said goodnight. Or, in Pierre's words, "Peace out Australia!"

The excitment then rose big time. In a wait that felt like a life time, section 69 were the first to spot the 5"6 legend, Billie joe, on the way to the stage. The opening chords of American Idiot announced the arrival of one of the worlds biggest bands and an absolute uproar sounded from the crowd of thousands! Some songs off the latest album were played, such as Holiday, Jesus of Suburbia and Wake Me Up When September Ends, along with a few oldies such as King For A Day (Billie Joe running around in a cape and crown!), Basket Case, Hitchin' A Ride, and the total classic Good Riddence (Time Of Your Life). That was the song that triggered the most cheers and a lot of tears. Just Billie Joe with his guitar sitting in total darkness except for the one spot light that shone down on him. A truely magical moment.. The night finished with the then just released Boulevard Of Broken Dreams. The crowd were then content to hang around till the early hours of the morning re-living the night by singing all the songs they heard, and the ones they hadn't, and basically causing so much noise it was very likely that most of Sydney had Billie Joe, Tre Cool and Mike Dirnt running around in their dreams that night. Something that I'm sure a lot of then wouldn't have minded!!!

Best bit of the night was probably when Billie Joe started.. umm.. "pleasing" himself on stage... It was quite.. entertaining! He also played the guitar behind his head on one foot the with his tounge. What a poser!! But it's Billie Joe so he's forgiven!!!

Simple Plan are coming to Australia in September with Good Charlotte (another awesome band!) and then Green Day will be back in December! What an awesome year I'm going to have!!! If I can pay for the tickets. I need 2 get a job.. I seriously recommend going to a Green Day concert. Those guys really know how to give you a good time!
