and I certainly don't protest his veiws
personally, the only thing I don't eat is veil
other than that, the food usually isn't prepared in a cruel fashion
the animals are well fed and well kept (otherwise the food would suck) and are killed right after their prime (again, or else the food would suck)
so honestly, I wish they did this with humans (minus the eating part) because it's the best way to live and to go out

they do have emotions, and should be treated according to how developed they are
never hurt a monkey, they are 99% identical to humans (by brain and anatomy)
but when someone got mad at my Uncle for saying he fishes and it was sick that he hurt fish for his own amusement, he had to point out to them that fish don't have nerves which prevents them from feeling pain (and he also pointed out that his girlfriend at the time is a huge PETA member

The ONLY thing that distinguished us from animals is when we worked out how to use tools, from there one we have been the dominant species without necessarily being the fastest, strongest, smartest or biggest animals on earth.
If dogs took over tomorrow they would consider us 'animals', and would refer to themselves as Dogs. Or woofs. Work the logic out for that one yourself.
Eating humans is considered wrong because of multiple things, somewhere between the legal system and a lot of species rejecting cannibalism in no less than extreme circumstances. Not to mention the fact that most food these days comes sterilised and packaged from supermarkets, if we had to go out and hunt it wouldn't be so unusual.
