Just say you don't like the taste? You don't want to eat dead things? You want to exercise your free will?!

i'm a vegetarian and i eat meat substitutes like veggie burgers for protein. when i saw the movie Fast Food Nation, i was disgusted. the way the animals are killed is disturbing and wrong. cows who did nothing wrong are killed for human pleasure. and i've actually lost weight when i stopped eating meat. i wear leather clothing but not often. i still eat veggies, fruit, and animal products because i still need the vitamins and minerals and calcium from them. being a vegetarian made me healthier and happier.

I eat meat, but half the time I buy Quorn stuff because it tastes nicer.
Although it's killing my budget lol.

Vitamins you need from meat:
Vitamin A [I think, but yu can easily get that from Goji]
Iron
B12

Fact: Potein takes minerals out of your body. Therefore, drinking milk [which has alot of protein] will not give you your calcium. You don't need as much calcium if you dont eat alot of animal products. Calcium and minerals come from veggies. As long as you dont eat a lot of foods high in phosphorous [meat, eggs, some fruit] don't waorry about calcium

Dude, we kill them so we can eat. We have to eat. Meat is extremely important in our diet. We don't kill them just for the fun of it.

Its not necessary to take any kind of vitamin supplements, as long as you eat a variety of fruit, veg, beans, nuts, etc.

B12 isn't really found in any other food except for stuff fortified with it. Silk Soymilk is so good for you... They fortify it with tons of stuff that vegans dont get, All I know is you definately need to take a b12 supplement if you dont eat meat.

I take only one vitamin B supplement, being an avid vegan. And to be honest, it's perfectly fine. It's six dollars for sixty tablets, so I spend six dollars every two months to ensure my vitamin B intake. And to be honest, I've only been using the supplement for the past few months, and I don't feel any different than when I didn't. So I might even stop, if I happen to not have six dollars by next month.

I'm not saying that a vegan lifestyle is necessarily better than a non-vegan/vegetarian, but from my point of view, I get sick only annually, I've never had any serious health problems, and I even donated blood yesterday with 'exceptional' amounts of iron.

One vitamin pill in exchange for an asprin, blood pressure medicine, and even in comparison with the whole routine diabetics and people with severe allergies have to deal with, it's not that difficult. To be honest, I think the hardest lifestyle is one where people use diet pills, or limit themselves from things they like to eat, for the sake of losing weight, whether it be medically or emotionally driven.

All in all, I don't speak for those who are or aren't in league with PETA, but who strive to live a life without using living things that deserve to live as much as we do.

I don't care if people eat meat, as long as people defer from generalizing a vegan as a stingy food and clothing elitist who depends on a handful of pills to function properly.

But just to not add peer pressure, there are quite a few cool people are vegetarians/vegans: Albert Einstein, Abraham Lincoln, Andy Dick, John Cleese, Billie Joe Armstrong, Charles Darwin, Charlie Watts, H.G. Wells, Coretta Scott King, Mark Twain, Doris Day, Emily Dickinson, Buddha, Leonardo Da Vinci, Franz Kafka, Ralph Waldo Emerson, Mary Shelley, Gandhi, John Lennon, Ringo Starr, George Harrison, Paul McCartney, Nikola Tesla, George Bernard Shaw, Rosa Parks, Henry David Thoreau, Jane Goodall, Johnny Cash, Leo Tolstoy, Mr.(Fred) Rogers, Sir Isaac Newton, Thomas Alva Edison, Tom Morello, Yoko Ono, and Vincent van Gogh, and more. It's a cool crew. Cool

I'm not a vegan, just vegetarian. Therefore, still not eating meat, but getting all my vitamins (including B12 from eggs & dairy products, although many cereals are also fortified with it), which was the original arguement.

It just feels more ~natural~ if I eat meat, plus I am scared to swallow tablets xD Though, idk what form you take it in.

As mentioned before, you don NOT have to take tablets, unless you are a vegan and are cutting all eggs and dairy products out of your diet.

And what's ~unnatural~ about eating things that are grown from the earth?

My little brother's ADHD medication is bigger than what I take. And like I said, I function fine without it.
