I strive to live by some simple rules but if i break them it's not gonna kill me. I don't belive in sinning, if what you are doing is what you think is morally right then do it...unless you're like an axe murderer in which case you're probably mentally disurbed.

well, sins come from the religion but now with a lot of atheists here, I think its more a thing that society standards control....I mean if you grow up with people that think of sex before marriage is a sin, you will be brought up with those standards and you will not get rid of them easily....
the same with murder and the most simple thing of jealousy...

Jealousy is a very natural thing, a self defense mechanism to keep your territory safe by all means, like with animals, you know the alfa-male system...the alfa-male, the best, gets the most food and respect and ,sex, not to forget.

for example

I am in a theatre club with a friend...
And she preforms soooo well that she gets a scholarship...and I get nothing....
In this, in my territory, she is better, so I'm jealous.

But society standards say that that is a bad thing and that I should be happy for my friend who won a scholarship...I am of course, but deep down there is still the jealousy that I am ashamed of, because I was braught up with the idea that jealousy is a bad thing.

I think you should make up for yourself how you want to live, and what standards applie to you.

this is a very odd topic.

A human was designed with flaws, we are meant to sin, so yes we are all sinners....BUT if you ask forgiveness for your sins and learn from your mistakes then it's ok.

humans are flawed by nature. these flaws make us therefore perfect.

How can you say that though? As far as we know, they MAY be someone out there who is society's idea of perfect. We will never know. We don't know everyone in the world.

because perfect has a different definition to different people in different societies for example, perhaps for someone to be perfect in the catholic society that person would have to be a part of the catholic religion and do all that God wishes them to, however, that same person, although perfect in their own society would perhaps not be considered perfect to one of another religion because to be perfect to them they would have to be a part of THAT religion.

No need to come "down on me". I agree with you both infact, I was just saying we shall never know. I was just giving a different view, I didn't say that it was what I thought. I know a couple of people who think like that. I disagree with them, but whatever.

I think...nobody is perfect...in everyone's eyes. But everyone is perfect in their own special way. I mean...I may be ugly...and lots of people may agree with me. But other people may think I'm perfect because of my personality.

So...your parents may think you're a useless piece of shit...but...

YOU'RE PERFECT!

I don't think our lives should be controlled by 'sins', but by morals..~that sounded so cheesy~..Some of the sins, like jealousy, are character building and help you grow as a person, you shouldn't be punished for that.
