have you guys seen the parody of the you're beautiful thingy?
yeah! "it's bloody cold, its bolld cold it's true'....i laughed so hard ! i think that THE most popular GD song would have to be 'time of your life'. GD lovers and....not so lovers do tend to sing along. thats what i think anyway
The very first Green Day song I heard was Good Riddance (Time of Your Life) and I loved it! Then I heard Boulevard of Broken Dreames and I loved that 2! But I had no idea both of those songs were by the same band. Once I found out, I've loved Green Day ever since!

wasn't that from Dead Ringers? Fuckin funny stuff
And it's Good Riddance hands down. Everyone knows that song even if they don't know Green Day
I'd say that its probably Good Riddance or Minority.
I would say Minortiy, it climbed the charts faster then any GD single to date.

Uumm.. I though Good Riddance was the most popular Green Day song..
Statistically, no. It earned them more respect than anything. Basketcase was the best selling single I believe and Minority climbed the charts the fastest
Yeah but care about statistics. The thread is about Green Day's most popular songs. OK, statistics come into play a bit, but popularity can also mean which songs people remember from a long time ago, which ones are still played on the radio, earning respect, etc. If you play on stats the whole time, then it changes because as you say, Basket Case was the best selling, Minority the fastest climbing, BOBD went straight in at number 2 in America, American Idiot straight in at number 3 here in the UK.
But going on other ways of stating popularity, it has to be Good Riddance. Where I live in England, it's normally played on local and sometimes national radio. As I am kind of the person who likes Green Day the most in my school (I'm not a teenie, I liked them way before AI), people always talk to me about Good Riddance. The song is also played at many other functions as people have posted about, eg proms, wedding dances etc.
Good Riddance has to be the most popular globally. It was used on the last episode of Seinfeld (I think - correct me if I am wrong Americans ) However, it may change in different countries. In the UK, I would probably have to go with a tie between BOBD and GR, after seeing it on BIAB it confirmed it for me. People don't know/remember songs like Brain Stew, Stuck With Me, and for some reason Longview. As Mike Dirnt says on BIAB, there are a lot of fans who don't know these songs. Kerrang! music channnel over here had a feature on "Green Day's Forgotten Gems", with stuff like Stuck With Me, Walking Contradiction, Waiting, Warning etc.
In conclusion, as I have stated before, it's Good Riddance globally.
I'd say Good Riddance cause it's used in weddings, graduation thingys, and other stuff, even when people don't even know it's Green Day. I did a report on Green Day where you played 2 of their songs, and I did Good Riddance and Walking Contradiction. My point was to prove that Green Day wasn't just American Idiot. And when Good Riddance came on, poeple were like "OMG I LOVE this song, this is Green Day???" And I told them yes it was.
Anyway, Good Riddance is more popular than people give credit for.

Good Riddance, I believe.
Why isn't that an option in the poll?!
It's good ridance people, they played it in the final seinfeld episode for christs sake. And we all know what ratings that had...
Now if people knew it's green day singing it i don't know. But that doesnt matter.
