This is the offical brainstorming and mentor thread.
Come here to ask for help with your story either for ideas or for someone to look it over and critique it.
When posting here for help with ideas, please post a link to your story to make it easy to find.
When wanting a critique of a story, ask here and one of the 'mentors' will answer you here and then you can send them the story/chapter via PM.
Please let's keep the spam to a minimum

I got a plot bunny I want to kick to you guys. Ever since I read Jimmy4whatsername's story Don't Let Morning Come, I have had this spin-off like story buzzing in my head and it won't go away! I have to get it out, but it won't be visible to anyone until Warning or My Fair Lady run their course (hopefully soon because they are making me ill)
In it, Jakob and Frankito are best friends and are entering their freshman year but over the summer, Frankito has made some. . . . interesting friends. Insert a little violence and a breakdown between the families.
Fearing literatly for Jakob's life, the Armstrongs relocate to a small, country town where Jakob begins to grow into himself and starts to stand up more for himself. But, of course, Frankito won't let him be happy by any means.
It is basically about growing up and growing up too fast. |

I'm interested..but at the moment i'm not that good with writing my own story, yet I don't want anyone telling me what to write or critizing me 
So maybe later..i'll be a mentor and help people..write their stories o_o
Besides my ideas are crap.
And I don't want anyone like..making fun of my own story ideas..bleh.

| July 14th, 2006 at 12:23pm Well, that's as far as I've gotten really. I have actually started to write it out. I've done one and a smidge of another chapter. The more I write it, the more I see Jakob being depressed and emo-like. Poor kid. But his life will get better. . . for awhile.
Thanks for the feedback. I won't post this story until one of my others is finished though.
And believe it or not, plotbunny is an actual technical term! I'm not kidding either. It makes me giggle a little too!  |

Nobodies going to tell you how to write it, just suggestions on how to improve, you know what I mean? You only get help if you ask for it.
I just helped someone with their story. I didn't tell how I wanted it written. I just gave them some tips and highlighted some corrections in the spelling and grammar. I didn't get insulted for being honest either. |

I'm not quite sure what you're asking. What you wrote above looked and sounded great and would probably fit well into a story.
I'm a bit of a quote whore. 
The italics was a quote by George [Kevin Kline] in Life As A House.
I wouldn't want to take credit for it, but I don't want to put his name in that bit. Then again I don't want to plagiarize.

| July 15th, 2006 at 12:20am Okay, I got it now. Yeah. I would put quotations around it as it is a direct quote and without them would be plagerism to a degree. But with quotations and a footnote as a citation or mention about it somewhere in the story further on down the line. |
