Well, first off, I believe that Obama is going to win the democratic nomination.
But it comes to me that the race is being so stringed out that he's going to have... a month to campaign.
McCain will have had SIX.

Thats true, but even with his campaigning, a lot of republicans are against his stances on taxes and the war at this point. When you compare him to the other republicans who were running against him, he is quite different. Even though he did end up beating them, they still have a substantial amount of supporters. He is going to need those six months and then some to just get the republican vote, let alone work on swing voters, I think.

Obama won Mississippi if anyone cares, and did Clinton only win 11 delegates last week? I have trouble finding out the facts underneath all the crap in the articles.

Guess who's coming to my city tomorrow...Bill Clinton.Cool He's coming to talk about the Hilary campaign. I never liked him but it would still be cool to see him. I'm not going though. Not very many famous people come to our city so this is exciting (but not as exciting as when Bush came in 2004 for a rally and I want and it was the best day of my life Mr. Green).

Yeah, I heard about it when my dad was ranting at the dinner table about 15 minutes ago. I think what this guy's saying is messed up.....

I mean, Osama bin Laden, is alive, we've all seen the tapes.

AIDS is an STD, but it doesn't have to be, whatever that means.... and the US didn't have anything to do with the spread of this terrible disease. We're the one
s trying to prevent it!!! And trying to find effective meds to help treat it!!

OH!!! And this really pissed me off!!!! The pastor also said that 9/11 was a government operation, as in America caused it themselves and that al -quaeda doesn't exist!!
Ok, we've been at war for this for so long, some may say too long. I can remember the events of September 11, 2001 very well. I mean, I was 7 and didn't really understand what happened, but I can remember that al - queda and bin Laden were mentioned from the start, even before 9/11. America definately didn't set this up. THere's no way that our government would and could wake up one morning and just say, you know, let's kill 3,000 of our own citizens. No, it doesn't work that way. I believe that things happen for a reason. We had no reason to kill 3,000 of our own people.

For those of you who are non US citizens, I deeply apologize for the use of the word we and our. I live in America and am well aware that a lot of GSBians don't. Sorry.!!! But, feel free to leave an opinion!!!

I can't believe he said, "God damn America" Really damaged Obama I think. These people who are trying to 'help' the candidates really are just damaging them. Like Geraldine Ferraro for Clinton, just isn't good people.

My mom was right about things coming out about Obama. Although, I didn't think it would be this early.

It was in the papers here, but I just thought 'big deal, who cares'.

Some people have been, mainly a bunch of extremeist Christians (no offense, Christians) who don't want to vote for him because of his religion which they believe to be Muslim... even though he isn't Mr. Green Silly, honestly.

She didn't say anything specific. But his pastor is like anti-American. That doesn't mean that Obama is anti-American, but that would make me a bit suspicious.

Ha. I was just coming here to discuss this. I just read an article with a recent speech from Obama.

Link.

I think he's handling it really well. But I'm still really worried about the effects this is going to have on his campaign. It totally sucks. But hopefully voters are smart enough to realize that Obama obviously doesn't share all the same views as his pastor.

tbh I don't think they are. Neutral
If the media gives it enough attention, his campaign could really be damaged.

That's why I said hopefully. Because I really don't want that to happen.

But aren't you the teeniest bit suspicious of him now, why if your a politician do you keep someone so damaging in your inner circle for 20 years. He must on some level share views and opinions or he would have cut ties with him or even worse he doesn't but it shows an extreme lack of judgement for someone who wants to be commander and chief.

He claims that he didn't know about the negative words his pastor said and only recently did these videos surface. I see no reason to doubt Obama and him saying that he does not share the same views. The pastor was only in his inner circle for religious purposes and I don't think they ever discussed politics [my thinking, I have no evidence or evidence otherwise].

I didn't catch his speech today but from what I hear, which isn't a lot, it didn't make a difference. I say that because the news has not covered much of it but are still talking about the pastor issue. And what is this about a speech Clinton made today about race? Details anyone?

When Bill Clinton made racial comments, the media was just "Oh, darn that silly bill! What will he say next! tehe" Hillary's husband. Someone she has stood by through adultery amongst other scandals.

Then, Obama's Pastor says some crazy shit, and everyone flips the fuck out. He has denounced everything this guy has said in multiple press conferences and he gave a speech specifically targeting the issue of race and the things his pastor said, an entire speech devoted only to that. Obama has no control over what this man says, and Obama has made it a point in his campaign to not play the race card. And you have to realize that the majority of things that have caused so much controversy were the things the pastor said aimed at Hillary Clinton. Seeing as how Obama has never ran against her for president before, he obviously wasn't saying these things because the situation hadn't presented itself to give him the opportunity.

Firstly Clinton's (billo) deragatory remarks have cause fury before and probably again seeing as he has the chronic illness of constantly sticking his foot in his mouth and what he has said has had an affect on how i view the clinton campaign so you cannot fight fire with fire by saying, well 'someone close to clinton has made stupid comments so it should be acceptable for someone close to obama to do it too'' It doesn't work like that, deciding to run for president is something that takes close to a decade to plan, Obama must have dreamt about this since he first entered the political stratosphere, this reverand has been in his life since he was a teenager and i don't believe that obama agree's with his opinions but by keeping him in his life and by attending his church he's abiding them, it doesn't matter how many speeches he makes condemning them if he's then turning round and attending mass on sunday it completely confuses the situation. That man's views are dangerous, if your running for a major political party you do not dine with a dangerous person you cut them out of your life. Because thats politics.

To believe that because he's a reverand they wouldn't discuss anything other than religion is a little naive, I'm a surfer but i don't only talk about rip curls. And seeing as America is one of the most religion orientated governments on that planet its even more disturbing that this guy is so close to Obama.

Once again i'm not anti-Obama, i don't see him as agreeing with this pastor i just think that him not cutting ties with this man shows a severe lack of common sense.
