Milton Keynes National Bowl - England, June 17th, 2005

This happened to be the first Green Day gig I have ever been to and I was totally blown away!!

The support acts for the concert were (in the order they played): Hard-Fi, Taking Back Sunday, and Jimmy Eat World. I loved all three of the support acts equally, they all put on great performances. The only bad thing is that some of the concert goers were totally not paying any attention whatsoever, which I thought was rude, but I think others made up for it (including me and my group).

After Jimmy Eat World went off, a pink bunny rabbit came on stage, staggering about to YMCA, which got all the crowd joining in. After this bit of fun, the real anticipation was about to begin. 2001: A Space Odyssey rang out throughout the MK Bowl, and Green Day were seen standing at the side of the stage, waiting to go on..... cheers from the crowd were filling the stadium.

After that, they went straight into American Idiot. After this, they played a mixture of their older songs, with songs from their American Idiot album, and also, who could forget the infamous "Knowledge"? Those fans who were chosen to play looked so happy... and also, it was so cute when Billie Joe picked this little nine year old boy out of the crowd to shoot a water pistol. And you knew Billie Joe was gonna stick his hands down his trousers, which raised some cheers!!

To top off a great day, there were fireworks, explosions on the stage, confetti and encores!!

The only bad thing was the lack of water they allowed us to take in on such a boiling day...

Green Day I definitely had the "time of my life!!"

Kayleigh xx
