I am disabled and I find it really offending when people park in Disabled spaces just out of laziness. Or do you use the lift/elevator because you cant be arsed to use the stairs?

I think people forget that there are people who wished they could use the stairs.

In America it is illegal to park in handicapped parking spaces but in the U.K its not.

What are your views on this?

I hate ppl like that. I once yelled at this guy who was parking at a disabled space. First I was very polite and asked him why he parked there but when he said "because it's the closest parking lot to the centre" I yelled at him.
I don't know any disable persons but I hate it when ppl do that. They have no respect for anyone.

GOOD THREAD!!!!!!

My Mum doesn't do it out of principle (Yeah, she used to work with Disabled people once). My Dad doesn't do it either. But If there were no other parking spots, I'd do it. Obviously not if there were other spots, but sometimes there aren't. Needs must, really...

You shouldn't do it AT ALL.

reasons:

1.U could park down the road and walk.
2.There are people who need them more than you.
3.You can get a ticket.

Roadside parking is not an option in my town...Not only is that not available in most places, but unless you want your car windows putting through and your hubcaps being 'borrowed' you'll not do it in my area.

The disabled parking spots are often all empty.

Ticket? eh?? I don't know what you're on about.

The thing is, that doesn't deter many people. If it did, you would have no need to post this.

if you shop at tescos and they notice you parking in a disabled space they will ask you to move.

i have 2 kids that are disabled they have ADHD and OCD and we are entitled to park in them but i think that if they can walk then we dont have to take up a parking space for a person who needs it more.

it might mean that you can qualifie for a disabled badge yes, you have to speak with your local council about how to apply oh yeah and it alos depends on what lvl of DLA you get. And what you get it for.

Nah, I only get a tiny amount for something really minor. But thanks for clearing it up anyway.
