Are you in favour of them or not? Can you fall in love with someone you met over the net? And how can you trust them? I don't really know what I think about them personally.

I'm in favor of them. Of course, I'm in one so I'm a bit biased. As long as you know the person is real, is human, isn't a lie . . . of course you can fall in love with them. I love my girlfriend with all my heart. We're going to get married and have a family.

There's nothing wrong with internet relationships as long as you're smart. Same thing goes for friendships online, as well.

I can't see having a romantic relationship with someone over the internet.... People have sexual desires and needs as well.. and a romantic relationship ussualy embraces the sexual romance as well. The physical romance along with the personal romance.

I would just need the whole thing... to really have a romantic relationship with someone..

I'm kinda in one too, but my best frends has met the guy nd I totally trust her. And I trust him. But, I dont think their a good idea. Cos it hurts alot. Cos you're longing for someone and know that you got a 99% chance you wont meet them so, it sucks.

I have kind of strong feelings over someone I met online (a GSBian actually). But I do agree: it kind of sucks.

Yes, I do wish I had such feelings for someone around me, or at least in the same country where I live. But I didn't decide to have feelings for thsi person, it just happen.

And why wouldn't something like that happen? I mean, I talk to this person almost everyday, tothe point where we started telling each other more personal stuff, instead of just the Green Day related kind of talking. I started to trust this person a lot, I started to enjoy talking to her, until it just happened, I realized I was enjoying way too much talking to her, meaning that I enjoyed more having a conversation with her than with any other of my online friends.

I use some common sense though. I've talked to tis person on the phone and seen her pictures, I know her full name, blah, blah, blah, so I could be almost 110% sure she's a real person. And if I ever got the chance to meet her *crosses fingers* I wouldn't agree to meet her in a dark and lonely alley in the middle of nowhere.

I must admit that before having online friends I thought that all this Internet relationships kind of thing were really stupid. But now I know it's absolutelly possible and that it works, becuase I know a couple who first met online (and they also were from different counties, though they're adults, so that's different).

If other people want to be in internet relationships, that's their choice, but I wouldn't be in one. I'd rather have someone here... I couldn't love someone I never met. It's very hard to stay faithful and you never know for sure if you can trust the person or not.

I think it's pretty awesome. I love my internet friends. Very Happy We can talk about everything...

For me, I can't imagine an internet love Think Though of course it can happen! Like in chatrooms or something...

But for love relationships I prefer the real life you know...

There is more than one type of relationship. Friendships I think can be formed over the internet, some of my best friends I have met On this site, and I care about them just as Much as my friends who I hang with and go to the movies with. You don't have to know someone physically to be affected by their personality and know what kind of person they are.

That can also work in reverse as well, you can be harassed by people over the internet to. Physical confrontations with people dont really effect how you know a person, its the emotional side of things.

Internet Dating however... I just don't see that as dating. Im not saying you can be close to someone over the internet or something, but just never having contact with the person you're dating... I mean not even holding hands or anything, how is that a relationship of that kind? It's more like a strong friendship.

Friendships; I'm all for it. I love my friends.

Romantic relationships; Don't get too into it too soon. Make sure the person is for real first.
I was/am in a very long internet relationship with a GSBian. We were soul-mates, I'm sure. Sadly he passed on Tuesday (god bless), but I still love him and one day we'll meet.

Anyway, I think it's okay.

I agree with I_worship_tre_Cool, I don't see Internet relationships as "dating", I think of dating go out to grab some coffee, a wlak around the park with the bright moon shinning up there, a romantic movie, blah blah blah, and you can't do any of those things over the Internet, so I don't considere and Internet relationship as "dating" until the persons involved have met in real life.

I think internet friendships are fine, I have made some awesome friends on the interent and specifically on this site.

But, romantic relationships, I dont think they can work, you can't have the same thing over a computer that you can have when the person is there, right beside you.

i think that they are fine...there is nothing wrong with them...sure there are freaks in the internet, but there are also real awsome people...i think it all comes down to wheather you are a good judge of character...i just started seeing a guy off the internet...and i think its great...times have changed for sure, and i have met other guys off the internet and well im still here, nothing happened with them as in relationship...this one is different...and he is coming to see me for thanksgiving...and well see where it goes...but i have seen many relationships that were throught he internet work...and i trust that mine will too...its one of those things that oyu have to experience before you judge, cause before i would have disagreed with them...
but now im in love...with the greatest guy ever...and eventually will move with him...
and ill let you know how that works...lol

Internet relationships in the context of a pre-real life relationship are a good thing.
People meet online and live together/fall in love, get married in the future a lot, it works, its a good thing Dno

But its all relative. Some silly kids say they are "taken", and an e-relationship to them consists of very little. MSN, webcam, occasional phonecall, stuff like that, and when people live thousands of miles apart it doesn't work. Its pretentious.

E-relationships that go on to evolve into a "real-life" relationship are great. I have issues with the more naive people treating an e-Realtionship oin a par with real life.

I've been in a couple.

up to 6 months and longer.
One with a GSBian actually.

...whoever is getting into it; try to run away from the feeling of hopelessness you'll feel when it strikes you that you'll never be able to even talk to them in person.
