I thought Countrycide was OK but the guy who wrote that episode isn't great.

Yeah, Jack and Ianto have kinky sex work out their emotional problems and develop a mature and fulfilling relationship. Also, there's a creepy psycho loser zombie lady we see the supernatural return of a deceased colleague, and it's affect on the team. I personally think Ianto was really hot in it it had a sharp and witty script, while dealing with the complex issue of the afterlife, developing characters while laying in foreshadowing for Jack's dark future.
