Shadow of a Doubt:
Ok, you people need to get something straight! HE IS HALF BLACK! Not 100% black. Yes, we have never had a half black person get this far in a Presidental election, but if he wins he WILL NOT be the first black president. He will be the first HALF BLACK president.

He'd still be the first African American to be the President of the United States. For that title, it doesn't matter if he's half black or all black, he's still African American. And honestly, years and years from now [when this movement of Change is in the past =P] no one will know that Barack was only half black, really.

I thought Hillary's speech was a bit weak but it served its purpose and that's really all anyone can ask. Favorite speech so far is definitely Joe Biden's. He really introduced himself to the country as a man of passion and a strong love and hope for his country, not unlike Obama. Anyone want to share their favorite speech? =) [or have I been the only one glued to the tv for the conventions? =P]

Coffee It'd still be epic, he'll be the first prez who isn't a white guy with bad hair.

Dno But you know if he does win the media will still call him the first black president.

McCain picked Sarah Palin for his VP. I don't who she is but from the stuff I've already read about her, I like her. I'm excited now.

I don't really know much about McCain but from what I've read, he seems like a disgusting misogynist and it would be ridiculous if he won.

When are they going to find out who won btw?

i'm incrediably nervous at the prospect of a president with no military experiance taking office when Russia is upping the cold war anti

I'm equally nervous about the prospect of a president who is more inclined to war.

the election is going to be triiiicky.

Also, I think it's completely rediculous that Hillary Clinton is saying she supports Obama.
After going head to head with him and putting down his beliefs and what he can do for America, all of the sudden she supports him.

But once again, I guess it comes down to party vs. person.

Putting down his beliefs? O_O 90% of what they believed was exactly the same. Honestly, ethics and values wasn't the issue between then for democratic voters because they were so similar. It was just campaign tactics mostly.

And it would be totally idiotic of her to support McCain, seeing as how they have opposite standpoints. She's a democrat, and she is doing what's best for her party, just like how Romney and Huckabee have been campaigning with McCain. Being a sore loser doesn't help anything. Dno

Sara Palin named her kids Todd, Piper, Willow, Bristol and Trig.

Coolio

and for more serious issues....

Palin has also stated her opposition to abortion even in cases of rape or incest.

She supports teaching both evolution and creationism

She supported a non-binding referendum for a constitutional amendment to deny benefits to gay couples. Palin's first veto was used to kill a bill that would have barred the state from granting health and retiree benefits to the partners of gay state employees.

She is a life-time member of the National Rifle Association.

Though she admits to having smoked marijuana (like what? 80% of Politicians)she is agianst it being legal. She also says she belives meth is worse then pot (no really? wow i had no idea)

She apperantly hunts (maybe she can shoot an old lawyers like cheney)

She stated that she does not believe that global warming is man-made,and had threatened to sue the federal government over their decision to list polar bears as a threatened species due to effects of climate change. She supports Arctic National Wildlife Refuge to drilling.

As for forgien policy and economics, people dont seem to know much. *coughn00bcoughcough*

She's been the Governor of Alaska for 20 months! Wow! What experience!

I thought this was the dumbest choice for McCain but I suppose it is the "shocker" that he needed. She's supposed to take Clinton supporters away from Obama but the problem is that even though she's a woman, she's extremely conservative. Clinton's supporters won't really go for that [or at least I hope they're not bitter enough to vote against Obama].

I wonder how the Republican Convention will go...

and the fact that McCain is clueless enough to think something like that would actually work shows what horrible decisions he makes. Mr. Green

I don't know, I just can't really get behind a guy who says, "This is the 21st century, countries don't just invade other countries." when asked about Russia invading Georgia. Orvil

And as for McCain getting choosing Palin as his running mate, and trying to steal Clinton supporters away, I don't think it's going to work because Hillary has been invloved with this for way too long and has gained almost 100% of their vote and support.

I am however, looking forward to watching some of the Republican National Convention so I can get some more insight and details on Palin.

....i'm pulling for Obama btw Coolio

She has radical right wing views. She's an extreme republican, and when most Americans fall into the category of moderate, being too much in one wing makes a big difference.

If republicans get any stricter on immigration/emmigration, we won't even have the option of leaving. lmfao
